Yakima LoadWarrior basket w/ extension

i added a yakima loadwarrior basket with the extension on my '22 4dr bronco. i also added a third cross bar. i attached it to the front crossbar and the middle crossbar. but even with the extension it's just not quite long enough to attach to the rear with the yakima mounts that come with. any Macguyver types out there have any clever ideas for attaching the rear of the rack to the rear crossbar. i have contacted yakima about this problem via email but still waiting for a response. attaching pics

Sorry, I can’t help with your question since I’ve got the two door but I was thinking about getting one of these Yakima racks without the extension but was curious if it’ll fit on my OEM crossbars. Is yours the MegaWarrior?

Mines the load warrior not the mega warrior. The mega warrior is wider and i didn't want to take the chance of the basket hitting the side rails. Not sure if it would have but I like the slightly narrower look of the load warrior.

Did Yakima ever respond with a solution?

If not, what about:

1. put the clamps on the Bronco crossbar, but not attached to the Yakima rack tubes.
2. Buy a piece of flat steel in Home Depot.
3. Run it from one clamp to the other - over the tubes that actually sit on the Bronco crossbars.

Instead of the clamp grabbing 2 small diameter basket tubes, the flat steel (or aluminum if you prefer) would clamp over the larger tubes (along the length of the Bronco crossbar) that the basket sits on.

Look at the 3rd picture in your first post and you’ll see what I’m thinking about.

Question for you- withOUT the extension would it have mounted ok to the two cross bars that come with the OEM rack (the rear two bars)?

Does adding a third crossbar increase the dynamic load rating from the initial 110lbs?

Does the basket come with the crossbar mounts, or is that a separate part? I'm looking at their flat platform, and can't figure out what all I need.

I know this thread is old, Did you ever resolve this? You probably could add a second extension making it longer to secure to the rear and giving you additional storage.
