Yeah - agree with others - stick with the Big Bend - spend the $3000 later on stuff you really want.

Of course if you switched from MIc to soft top on that Big Bend, you’ll almost surely get built.

Stick with the BB and save the money. With the money savings, you can buy the Heritage grill (or any other that you want). No need to haul body armor and rails if they are never needed.
Yes, this.

I started with a BB but optioned it to within $300 of a BD (both non-SAS). So I thought: the difference adds MGV, steelies, Grabbers, washout floors, 4.46 rear, why not. It will be my daily driver, and I’ll off road just enough to enjoy the BD extras. Hard to go wrong either way you conclude.

That’s kind of my situation as i can afford the price difference albeit with less options like the mid package and hard top but with more money down…but at the rate of production I’ll have it more than half paid for when it’s ready. I just don’t know about the MGV seats and longevity. It’s a balance of being fiscally responsible vs getting a vehicle I plan on keeping forever.

This will be my daily driver and I will take it camping and some very light trails. That’s why I probably will stick with a big bend but that’s Also why I’m asking for people who might know more than me on the BD so I can weigh all the options.
Makes sense. I'm no BD expert since I'm getting a Badlands, but if one of the differences is a rear locker, that's worth whatever extra it may cost from the factory.

When camping, even if you're not doing what we'd call "wheeling" something could happen that you should be better prepared for. What I'm referring to is rain. When dirt turns to mud and or rocks and gravel to slush, or sand becomes muck, a rear locker could be the difference between a patience inducing drive home, or being stuck on a trail needing a recovery or maybe a tow, snatch, etc from a stranger.

Further, if there is a difference between road tires and the BD having real off-road rubber, that further enhances value.
