Ok. This is driving me nuts. Last week, I watched a video documenting the install of a rearview mirror camera (pretty sure it was a Wolfbox, but maybe it was a different one?) where they mounted the rear camera in the spare tire and it showed the whole process. I distinctly remember them removing the spare and installing the camera mount on the bolts and adjusting the camera to fit between the spokes of the spare.
I ordered a Wolfbox g900pro yesterday, and now I have been searching everywhere for 2 days trying to find that video.
I have found several how to vids on here mounting the camera to the hardtop and a couple of other YouTube tutorials and reviews. But I swear I watched one where they put it on a universal mount in the spare, running the wire through the tailgate and where to cut and splice into the wires running to the dash and all. Has anyone seen that video? Maybe it was by a website selling the cameras? Save my sanity!

Here's the video I threw together. Not exactly the tire mount video you were looking for, but this will take you through everything else.

Matt, Your video is awesome and I will definitely use it for reference. My post was partially for my sanity, as I swear I watched a specific video and was interested in how they mounted the camera in the spare. But I went ahead and just bought the brandmotion mount from crutchfield, so I should be ready to do the install this weekend.

The add-a-fuse and splicing into the reverse wires was a bit intimidating when I first started looking into the process, but I don't think I even need the reverse function, and the fuses should be pretty straightforward.

Ok. I found the video. It was on trailseven.com’s page installing a different camera. But now I have a question. @RustysBronco I followed your video for the bcm connections, even though the add-a-fuse they provided were 15 amps and the 2 fuses we pulled were 20 amps.
I am now getting a “check park aid” warning at start up.
Probably a dumb question, but was I supposed to put the 2 20 amp fuses I pulled into the add-a-fuse spaces? Or just put them aside? And if I didn’t put them back in, could that be why I am getting the warning message?

You shouldn't have anywhere without a fuse. So if your fuse taps don't have fuses behind them, you need to put them in.

Where did you bring the AV wire for the rear camera thru the tailgate?

Were you able to fit it thru the existing tube in the grommet or did you create a new opening?

I think I had to open it a little bit, definitely had to remove a zip tie near the grommet, I cant remember if I had to cut it or just push through...

Has anyone cheated and just run the wire thru the flap vent right behind the tire carrier?
