this happened to me twice and when I took it to the dealer the second time they said the washer pump was overloaded when I tried to make it work when the water was frozen in cold weather, which I had already assumed. The dealer says the Ford protocol is to not replace the motor until this happens several times. Like others have commented this should not happen and has not happened once with any of the 20 some cars I have owned previously (7 of which were Ford products). This is clearly a design defect and should be fixed by Ford permanently. We can't be changing fuses or taking the car to the dealer every time this happens.
