Windshield and side window orange peel

I have had my black Badlands four door for three weeks and last week the windshield and side windows have developed an “orange peel” look as best I can describe it. None of them are crystal clear. My detail guy Googled it and said Raptors and Broncos have a problem with the laminate in the windows in the heat. Has anyone else developed this issue?

Strange cause I have no issue on my OBX with ceramic tint. Are your windows tinted cause if they are the tint you have may be causing that. Some Llumar film I’ve seen has adhesive failure that looks like orange peel.

The windshield was ceramic coated but the side windows were not. No other tint than the factory tint. The tint laminate in the glass is probably the problem

The shading in the glass is just colored glass, there is not actually tint in or on the factory glass. I work at a tint/PPF/ceramic coating shop. If your front windows have shading then the dealer put aftermarket tint on the windows. May seem strange but was the orange peel look there before the coating? I know you said the sides didn’t get coated.

My front window has what could best be described as a crazing. Little threadlike "T"s only in certain light. It is being replaced because of a smear between the laminate that looks like a thumbprint.

it did not show up until last week and no aftermarket tint was done. Delivered from Ford and purchased next day. Ceramic done first day and perfectly clear until all windows began the orange peel look

Hmmm, def have the dealer check it out. I’m sure it would be almost impossible to see in pictures. If I hear anything I will post it to ya.

FYI, Side windows are tempered and not laminated. Windshield is laminated.

We tried to take pics and videos but they are useless. The dealer recognized it late this afternoon. Will go back in a day or two

Been wondering if the ceramic coating that was applied was a spray on or wipe on. Makes me wonder if the detailer got a bit froggy and had some over spray. I’ve seen some bad ceramic coatings that look strange. Just a thought, any idea what brand coating?

Update: went to dealer this morning as was told to call Ford Customer Care. After getting a very nice lady on the phone and explaining my problem, she asked me why I was calling her for a warranty claim. I told her I had done so as directed by the dealer service writer. She called the dealer and said to go back and they would start a warranty claim. I will post the outcome when I get an answer
