I think I saw it in another thread but I'll plagiarize: It would actually make sense for Ford to back off to three trims a Base (maybe with BB and BD equipment group options) for us po' folk, the OBX for the upscale suburban types, and the BL/WT for upscale off roaders. Six or seven trims have lead to a lot of anxiety here.

Gotta say this monotone OBSquatch is Bueno!

Better yet............Base with BD and BL equipment group options, then BB with OBX and WT equipment group options

P.S. I started wanting a BD and worked my way up through all of them and have decided that I'm going all in for what I want as opposed to settling for what is practical. WT in rapid red here I come!

It's definitely because of the painted fenders; they look horrid. Otherwise, it's the same thing.

And don't worry about the poser thing. 95% of these built will never see dirt.

Wife wants an OBX; however we both agree we are getting rid of the painted fender flares. I will buy some aftermarket plain black ones or see how much they are through ford.

Might be possible to trade with someone if we get a White OBX. Worse case if we get AMB then Ill just plasti-dip them.

It’s so funny to me that a majority of people hate the painted flares. I love them.

+1 for painted fenders. They look fine. I prefer them also. I plan to get the OBX and may never even look at the fenders. I plan to drive it, and I'll care most about how it goes where I go, and the stuff I can do with it. Some of that stuff will include a long highway drive to get to a mountain trail 1,000 miles from the plains. NINE pages about this fender flare color nancy exterior design review is interesting / crazy. There are a lot of other Bronco points that matter to me. Fender flare color is one that I don't care much about either way. Going back to driving my 2020 Shelby GT350 until my OBX arrives. I'm digging the 5.2 litre Voodoo V8 and the manny tranny.

The Shelby has matching painted fenders also, and nevAr goes to the mall.

My wife will be getting a 4 dr sasquatch OBX. I don't like the painted fender flares and the non-squatch OBX is unacceptable so I'm happy. I saw the non-squatch OBX at the off road show and when I first glanced at it I thought it was a Bronco sport. That's how low to the ground it is.

The colored flares argument is the silliest. With how easy it is to remove them, it shouldn't be the determining factor of a trim. Someone can polish up their Bronco for a Saturday night with the colored flares and take them off or switch them out for Sunday Funday riding.

The OBX offers the cheapest entry point for the High package. For some, it is important, but it won't make their Bronco any less capable. Now, there is a legitimate argument for Missy's Mistake and the interior. But for some options and colors, it isn't the worst.
Right, it's like people forget that you can modify these things AFTER they get out of the factory. So much whining on this site would be fixed if people just remembered it's not illegal to change things after the car is in your possession.

Hmm. Surprised to hear that. Next to a Rubicon, the OBX ride height looked similar. Also, photos of Black Diamond look like a proper truck, and Black Diamond, Big Bend, and OBX all have the same ride height (actually OBX if anything is ever so slightly taller with 32.1" tires). Was it just the running boards that gave the low rider appearance? The BL is only 0.8" lift, and the tires only add another 0.3" of height.

The hate must be relative to this site. I've had painted flairs on my 74' for over 8 years since I finished building it and have received nothing but compliments. I don't have any damage (knocking on wood) and not one person asked me to turn in my man card.;)

With respect, the painted fenders on your OG Bronco don't look like aerial flaps meant to catch wind like they do on the new Bronco. It may work and look great on your OG Bronco, but that doesn't change the fact that they look rather................."flamboyant" on the new lol.

I don't recall what made it seem so low, but next to the BL that was there it looked like a big enough difference where the BL was the minimum height I would want.

I for one don’t want to spend $50k then have to spend more to get it the way I want it. Maybe after a few years, but the amount of people willing to spend even more after delivery is astounding to me.
