You'd think by now they'd have it integrated into the door or B pillar? Personally I think they're ugly AF and look cheap! But if the Bronco has a fuel door like the Ranger you can stick it on the inside of that. Here's one on the Ranger mounted inside the fuel door.

@AzScorpion Well hell Dave, now there's something else I'm going to have to buy for my incoming Ranger, and for the Bronco also now that I know it won't be sticking out like a sore thumb. First it was the tailgate damper, and now it's this. You just love spending my money.....don't you? :) When the wife gives me that "look" I blaming everything on you buddy.

BTW, are they easy to program? Or, will I have to get my neighbors 12 year old to do it for me? :p

The implementation on the ranger and bronco is antiquated af and hideous. Hard pass from me.

My father has it in his 18 Fusion and you can't lock the keys in the car.

It looks ugly! If they could have made it more flush maybe I would have done it.
I really like having it on our Fusion, and if it would have been less in your face I would order it.

The B&P version is hardwired to the vehicle. Thus, no battery dependency. That's an advantage of adding it via B&P; however, as I've said before, I like mine hidden. So, I get the battery versions after the purchase and stick it on out-of-plain-sight.

The aftermarket option is wireless and runs on battery.
Mine have lasted for at least 5 years before battery replacement.
The keypad is illuminated upon first touch and blinks when the battery is low. I used it with a low battery for at least an addition 6 months before actually getting around to replacing the battery..
Its one of those quarter size batteries. Pry the top off and replace the battery. No big deal.

I have a Mustang and Explorer. Both using battery type units ($80) and have never taken the keys out of the vehicles. Just too convenient for MTB riding, swimming, shorts and no pockets kinda days at the beach and letting others go wait in the truck without having to be there (for various reasons).

BTW, If you want to steal these vehicles by breaking the glass and using the keys in the cup holder. Do it. I'm old and have great insurance.
Now I like that idea, will have to
Look into the cost.

Yeah, I always set "home" to the center of the adjacent town for that exact reason...
I like to set it for the police station near my house... cause you never know. lol

Has he tried holding the 7/8 and 9/0 buttons at the same time with the keys in the car?

That's what the owners manual says to do and what works on my identical Fusion.

That's exactly what I plan to do. Order it after the fact and install it. That is unless the fuel door is locked when the doors are locked.

What happens if your phone and keys are locked inside and the battery - the one under the hood - goes flat? You have to break the window?

I can live without the keypad. I've never had one so i wouldn't miss it.

I do miss vent windows though.

Sorry Jim but you should know from the Ranger forum that I will find a way to spend your money. ? But never fear these two forums are costing me a ton of money too.

IIRC you have to have these programed by the dealer. I know there are a few threads on this but I do remember a few buying these online then bringing them into their dealers. Now there's more money to spend. ?

I didn't forget it, it's just that the registration and insurance documents can be anywhere in the vehicle, not just in the glove box - I know I don't keep them in there.

See there, that wasn't so hard to admit, was it? :)

It may be cheaper to get a second valet key, and stick somewhere there is some steel. But, if the Ranger, and Bronco is like her Mustang I'll not worry. If you leave the FOB in the car, and hit the locks, it'll just unlock itself.
