I’m installing two KC slimlite ditch lights, which draw 8.3a for each light. I’m not using a relay.

Can I connect the power wire on the light harness to one of the 10a upfitter switches, or do I need to connect it to switch 1 (30a)?

Ie. Will the two lights together draw 8.3a or will they draw 16.6a?

If they’re wired in parallel they’ll draw 16.6. If in series then 8.3
You’ll need to use switch 1 or add a relay and you can use one of the others

Or you can put one light on a switch by itself. For example put the right hand light on switch 6 and the left hand light on switch 5.

I'm thinking of doing something like that because Arizona allows driving on a public road with a spotlight aimed off to the right side as long as it's aimed within 100 feet of the front of the vehicle.

Are you installing the 6" slimlights or 8" slimlights?

If you're installing the 6" slimlights, they're 50W each which would mean 8.3A for both lights. You could put them on any of the switches. I recommend SW 306. Save SW1 and SW 2 for something that draws more current.

They are the 6” Slimlite LEDS, but I just realized that unlike the OEM switches, the Hanspilot switches that I installed are rated for 30a on all 6 switches
