I replaced just the B&O subwoofer with the DS18 8” subwoofer. These pics tell you everything you need to know about the quality of the B&O sub compared to one I picked up for ~$80.

the first image is of a neodymium speaker, neodymium's magnetic strength is far greater than ferrites. simply comparing the space something takes up is not sufficient.

I don't expect a concert-like experience. I may have been spoiled with the F-Type but I'm sure the kids would find something wrong with it.

As long as I can fade to the rear and adjust base and treble sufficiently without cracking and popping, I can be content. But hell, when I have SiriusXM, I'm often listening to VSIN anyhow.

Ill likely miss having a CD player, just as I do in the Spider. Ill save them for the XK8 and Grand Marquis...both of which still handle the occasional cassette. Some of you kids may have read about them...it is a medium us older folks used back in the day...
record your CDs to a thumb drive and plug it in.... Now you can have ALL your CDs available without changing a disk... Kind of nice.... AND the head unit will play lossless... so you can record lossless....

The next issue (for me) was the DSP.... The quality of the digital sound processor is paramount to getting quality sound.... Then came speakers which helped identify the appropriate amp.

After running Audison DSP amp for three years on my Mustang I can say the '23 B&O is on par with same grade speakers, sub amp and sub I'm using.

I doubt I could match the DSP tune, plus volume would be same with 35W channel compared to my DSP amp based, on the near perfect pink noise measurements. I can't even listen to it over 24 really loud.

$2000 for good loaded sub + equalizing sub amp + 3 X 4" woofers + 2 x 4" coax + 2 X 6.5" midbass + 10 sq fr Resonix Black absorber + 15-20 sq ft sound deadener + foam speaker rings + OE adapter plugs + fuse block + power wire + tesa tape + MTX amp rack.

With this you're all set to enjoy amazing clear punchy music. Also upgrade ready for another $2K in amp and AtoB module plus speaker wiring.

Needs about 20-80 hrs play time to break in...

The B&O in my 2025 OBX is markedly better than the B&O in my (former) 2024 BB, probably because Ford retrofitted the dsp/amp from one of their F-150 B&O trims into the 2025's. I will say that a sub driver and amp might be in my future. It really depends on how loud you want your music to play, and if you want the thump, buzz and hum that some types of music require. Driving with the soft top down or the hard top off, then one may want a custom system with plenty of reserve power to be loud enough to overcome road and wind noise - to the detriment of other vehicles around you, and your hearing.
I think you answered the question as to why my 25 sounds great, to me anyway

Im curious, I have a 25 badlands with the B&O stereo and It sounds phenominal. I hear everyone talking about their dissapointment with these and its usually from pre 25's but in mine, it sounds fantastic. I did try it without the surround feature on and sure, it sounds a little flat that way but in surround, it has loads of power, volume and its clear and full.

Ive had volvo's, acuras, hondas, VW/Audi's,,,,some cars with fantastic stereos and this one is really good.

Maybe I am missing something or this stereo works better playing the kind of music i listen to. As well, the hands free works really well, I take half dozen meetings and calls in my bronco per week and when asked, every one supposes i am at my desk.
My review (you’re not crazy):

I'm not an audiophile so to me the 2022 B&O system is fine. Not the best but def not the worst either. I'm happy with it. I drive a bronco that's about as aerodynamic as cardboard box with a soft top and the radio helps with wind noise and that's good enough for me. The only thing I think stinks about it is that sub rattles and I'm too lazy to throw some fill in there or figure it out. Everything else sounds great to me.

You can just buy a loaded Kenwood enclosure cheap twist the two sub positives together and two negatives and extend to connect to Kenwood for a very good upgrade.

Bass upgrade is #1 then it's easy to upgrade coax in corners and you're probably good to go,

Thanks. I’ll look in to it. I just don’t want to take space with an enclosure. If I do anything I’d like to have something that can just retro fit in to the existing spot. Will prob need fill because I actually think it’s the plastic that rattles not the sub, but I may be mistaken. I don’t need a lot of thump, some without a rattle would be nice though lol

That was my thinking as well but in the end the OE enclosure is very poor and surrounded by various plastic bits enclosed in the cargo panel the air pressure is too much.

Any tailgate enclosure takes no space and that Kenwood loaded 8" enclosure is very small.

Could be your iPhone volume is restricted somewhere maybe check the volume toggle when connected, possibly a cable or blue tooth issue

My Android USB steaming is too loud by the time I hit 23.

However, I have an Audison AP BIT 8.9 for you, that would fit perfectly on a new MTX amp rack, along side any decent Mono block amp and A to B module, plus a JL 10" sub that would fit in any off the shelf enclosure for tailgate or cargo, plus a Maestro harness for the Maestro A to B module, plus couple Hertz C165L woofers for the kicks and a couple Hertz DCX 100.3 coax for dash corners.....all in about MSRP $1700 open to offers or trades....just want it all gone. Tempted to just junk it all......

All you would have to do is get a power wire, fuse block, 1 into 2 dist block, a single woofer for center and couple for the pods, Maestro A to B, mono amp ,sub enclosure, and you'd have a kick ass system.

I did see an Audison AFC 8.14 and AP1D mono amp and a remote DRC control on diymobileaudio for ask $1400 couple days ago. Also killer system way under rated by the usual brand princesses haha. Mine would be a fraction of that
