I had a Westin bumper put on. The sensors work fine on it. I am getting frequent pre collision warning on it when it shouldn't be happening. I took it to the dealer. They confirmed the sensors are testing fine, but the bumper is interfering with the box. Which, it clearly is.

The box for pre collision is behind this. Ford told me I could cut out around it, but with all the overhang I am not even sure that would do the trick and I am not keen on cutting that bumper. Right now, I just have it unplugged. I guess I could have just turned it off thru the driver features setting, but I was trying to get the indicator on the dash to go away.

Does anyone know a fix for this? Could I get one of the things that add rock crawl, etc and just uninstall the pre collision system? I can't remember what it is called. Or, does anyone know a fix for this or just something I have to live with. It's not the end of the world by any means, but would like to resolve it possible. If not, I will move on.

You probably will need to re-locate the sensor. DV8, and a few others, make a bracket kit, for this. Note that on Westin's site, they do say that the bumper will interfere with operation of this sensor, in the stock location. EDIT: Just looked at the Westin installation instructions, it looks like the kit includes a relocation bracket, do you know it that was installed, when the bumper was installed?

Yes, it was installed. It looks like the one in the picture below. There was an insert that filled in the Westin spot. I took it out today and plugged the sensor back in. Hoping that opens it up enough. It's not all the time when it goes off. So I can deal with it, but just the OCD in me wants everything to be just perfect.

The dealer said that wasn't even the ACC sensor. They said that was in front of the rearview mirror. The dealer said that was the pre collision sensor. I haven't even looked into it, but my ACC works perfectly. I trust dealers about as much as I trust that my 5 year old wiped himself after he took a crap though.
