Installed a Westin Brush Guard XTS on my 2024 Badlands Sasquatch. Fits and looks great, came with heavy frame brackets that I did not yet put on. What are these for and do I really need them?
Thanks

I was just looking at this exact bar last night and reading the online instruction manual. Wondering the same thing? I already have lights in the fog pockets so I’m not sure if I could even install those pieces. Hopefully someone has some insight

I've got one on the way, and looked at the instructions. I don't think you "need" them for normal driving, but they will probably help give some extra protection, especially for me since I wanted a brush guard to help protect from a deer strike ;)

My guess is they help prevent the bumper from "twisting" if a lot of force is put on the top of the guard. I was able to push the fog light back in next to the bracket. Not ideal, but they were cheap lights and not real noticeable to the untrained eye (the stressed area around the bolt on the fog light was from the original install, not the bracket).

Once you get it and install it, could you let me know what you think about the frame braces?
I used the factory mounting on the bumper and the end brackets. I really dont see a need for the frame brackets. I dont have a winch or extra lighting up there.

Unfortunately, I installed the frame brackets first so I have no idea if they make any difference.

I gotta mount mine in. After I put the pocket fog lights in. I was like hmm. I gotta modify the plastic housing. Guessing too the bracket adds support overall. Which I’m for. I just gotta mesh the two. If it were Baja designs or diode dynamics light kits it’s easily bolt in. But I’m not at a grand laying around to swap my fog lights yet point. ;)

I plan on installing the brackets but haven't decided what fog lights I'm adding yet so holding off to do at the same time this summer. Very happy with the guard so far though.

I put the brackets on the other day. Fit nice, but I dont see the need unless maybe for extra support for a winch or something.

I called their tec support, cause like most of y’all, I didn’t see where they practical. Only comment he made to me was helped reduce or prevent cracking at highway speeds.
GO FIGURE! Mine still in a box!!!

Not that I would ever run one, but that actually looks nice.
Much nicer than any others I've seen 🤠 .
