The Ford rep said that the Bronco in the photo had leather interior. Leather interior is an option on the Badlands.

To me, it makes sense that the leather option would not have vinyl seat backs.

And it would make sense that the standard vinyl interior (which we have not seen a photo of) would have vinyl seat backs. And I can't believe that Ford would have vinyl seat backs in the Bronco sport and not have them in the Bronco standard vinyl seats in the BD/BL.

I'm not worried about this at all.
Many vehicles only have leather on the surfaces that you touch. I would expect the sides and backs to be some sort of vinyl.

Yep. This is why most manufacturers say "leather-trimmed" or "leather seating surfaces"

So reading the Q&A from Super Celebration West. This comes from the brand manager.

This was on the Badlands model. Which is already known has washout interior. But if you look at the pics of the rear seat backs they are carpet.

How can you label this as washout interior if the whole interior isn't truly able ti be washed out.

I must say I'm highly disappointed. The washout interior was one key feature I wanted. And was the sole reason I was going with the Black Diamond. Guess Ford just made my decision to go with the Big Bend.
You do know that this a pre-production, right? I would not get wrapped around the axle or make big decisions based on these types of photos. Wait until the Build and Price to see what things look like.

When I heard "washout interior" I was under the impression that if the roof panels were for some reason left off in the rain, it would be OK. Clearly these pictures say I'm soft in the head.

It's not a matter of taking a hose to the interior. I highly doubt most people would do that anyway. It's getting caught in a downpour. It's spilling something that may stain. It all about easy cleanup and maintenance. Fish guts from a day of surf fishing. Wipe it up. Dog takes a shit. Wipe it up. Muddy gear thrown in the back. Wipe it up.
I can not believe that ford did make the bronco similar to the James Bond submarine car! what were they thinking! :)

On another note, if the only thing with carpet on it is the back of the rear seat, I can just pull it out and problem solved! (y)

Shaking my head. Not sure it is worth reading 7 pages but I hope someone said what made you think the entire interior was capable of handling a hose stream? Even the original Bronco was not that. Oh my head hurts.

Hell there’s not even drains on all the trims. So knowing that, why is it hard to fathom that the seat backs on the rear seats are the same as any other car/suv?
Incorrect, every trim has passive drains. Not every trim has the active drains.

This wasn’t you, or was it? The Wrangler has you covered.

Maybe if you read some of the thread you will plainly see I wasn't expecting the interior to hold upto a hose stream. Said it several times.

My CJ-7 had no carpet and drain holes. I did wash it out a few times, but found that capability was overate and the novelty quickly wore off. You end up with water all over and potential for rust and other issues. Generally more trouble than it's worth. I did not wash out the seats. You might be thinking wash out is more extreme than it is. And if that rear seat carpet is just thin synthetic without backing it will not hold much water, maybe you could hose it off like AstroTurf - but I wouldn't.

And what do you expect from your inflammatory thread title? Oh you knew this is what you would get. Sorry a little carpet on the back of a seat that has leather doesn't count as a fail.
