Hello all!
I took delivery of my Bronco last week and have been over the moon with it.

I decided to check out the drain plugs for the washout flooring and was a little surprised. The driver side plug appears to drain directly onto some heat shielding and the passenger side plug has an electrical connection running directly beneath.

I have a 2 door with the 2.3l engine. I’m not so worried about the drivers side as I figure it was designed that way and will drain down but it just seems odd. Anyone else? First photo is driver side, second two are passenger.

There is not issue at all. When driving through the rain your underside is entirely sprayed. No biggie if a floor board full of water runs over the stuff.

Driver side tends to build up with sand/gravel/debris. I ended up purposefully denting the heat shield to allow “larger” objects to pass through unobstructed.

Pass side, as others have said, the wiring is exposed all the time. Don’t sweat it
