Would probably make more sense if the heading was,” If you wreck your new Bronco, make sure you total it”. If it’s totaled you do not need to worry about parts.I’ve just been thinking about another paranoid compulsive thought to worry about: avoiding the totaling of your Bronco, because it may take SEVERAL years to take delivery of a custom-ordered replacement based on the current backlog.
It will inevitably happen, but the question is... will it be you?
I’ve actually seen this situation on the Tesla forums after the M3 and MY launch, because there were similar issues being able to get your hands on a replacement due to demand. In some cases it seemed Tesla made exceptions to get these customers back behind the wheel, maybe because the added PR around crash safety. Wonder if Ford would do the same!
Ford isn't going to be bumping people waiting on their first Bronco so someone who totaled theirs can have another one... They're just going to have to go to the end of the line. Now if it was a warranty issueNot sure how manufacturers handle this, but Ford h as been around for a while, I'd think they have some plan for this case? Hopefully there won't be hundreds of totaled Broncos in the first year, but it should be possible to squeeze one or the other replacement truck into the production line.
But I won't let anyone drive my Bronco for a while, my wife won't care to anyway, my son can continue to drive my Taco.
And I'll be paying more attention to where I park, which I don't with the 18 year old Taco.
Then it's just hoping other idiots don't run into me.
