Volume Control Muted

Hello, I've had an issue with my Ford Sync for about a month now. Whenever I get a text message the radio mutes and the volume control stops working. It stays this way for about 20 minutes. After around that time I hear a chime and it goes back to normal. The only other way I've been able to fix it is by turning the vehicle off or by rebooting the radio.
I've re-installed Spotify, Android Auto and Ford Pass. I've contacted Ford but they are no help. Is anyone else having this issue? If so do you know how to correct it?
