Hi guys, I tried searching the forums but didn't find any first-hand reviews of the VLAD LED headlights that I am seeing a fair bit on e-bay. I'd like to swap out my Bronco's stock LED headlights to the signature style LED's with the ring and the line as a DRL. Have only had the Bronco for 2 days but been researching this as I bought the vehicle unseen and didn't know it didn't have that lighting package.

Miscommunication with the dealer as I kept asking if it had LED lights, and they said yes, turns out it does, but not the ring LED's that I thought I was asking about. Anyway, anyone has any review of the VLAND ones that I see one eBay and are they worth it? There are few other options but price wise these come at half the cost of Morimoto or Form from what I can tell.

Here's a pic of my Bronco for good measure. Brand new 2024, with less than 40 km's when I got it. Wanted one since they first came out and finally got my hands on one. My original wild track order was delayed by over 8 months so I pulled out and went in a different direction but ultimately couldn't stay away. Don't plan too many mods I don't think but headlights for sure, and other than tint, it's going in for a full stealth PPF.

Thanks for all the input and looking forward to being a part of this wonderful community.

Well I guess somewhat of a redundant question. I ended up ordering the Morimoto ones just now. I figured might as well go for what is well reviewed and seems like decent quality out there, even though it came at a relatively hefty price point. Though, feel free to provide an input to the original question for posterity sake. Cheers.

I don’t own Morimoto but there are countless people on this forum that have had to send multiple sets back on warranty because they failed. Maybe search Morimoto on here and read what people say about them…might want to return them after you read about them.

Alpharex and Form are two that people like and have good reviews here on the forum.

I have the Morimoto ones and have not had any issues with them, however I have installed them on others Broncos, that have had to have several sent back for issues, not sure why some are fine and others are not but does seem to be a crap shoot to get good ones unfortunately.

I've had the Morimoto's for 15 months now. Am currently on my 5th set due to the drl's having color issues.

I will say, I love the lights and the amount of light they produce. Love the look of them too. And all I can say is, they have a 5 year warranty and I'm using the hell out of it. Hoping to get a good set eventually.

I would not trust any of the Chinese brands... even though it looks like Morimoto may be coming from there.

The morimotos having problems are the RGB color change rings. Im on my 3rd set and Ive talked to several others on here that have been thru 3-4. They have 5yr warranty but if you dont have your stock lights you have to order a new set first then return the old ones. Fortunately I have credit cards I can put it on but not everyone does. They gave me $600 for my stocks so yea.. If you keep your stocks then you can just send the defects in and theyll exhange them.

Im curious to know if that 5yr warranty continues with each new set or does it end 5yrs from the original purchase date?

If I had to guess, it's for 5 years from original purchase date. Though would be nice if it were each new set.

Either way, I'm happy that Morimoto does honor the warranty and I've never had any issues getting replacement headlights from them. Sucks fronting full price until they receive back defective set, but they've got quicker at issuing the refund for those sets.

Thank you for all the replies guys. It is definitely unfortunate to hear about the quality issues on a product that is as expensive as these. I spoke to the Canadian vendor I ordered them from and though they said that they haven't had too many complaints having sold many , they will be happy to help deal with any warranty issues if they come up. Ultimately it was my call and since I am too lazy to go back to the drawing board and start over, I told them to just go ahead with them.

Those Oracle ones are super cool but I am specifically after the halo LED look for DRL's for this one. I don't even care for the multiple color options that Morimoto has as I will only run the white LED.

Just buy a set of OEM signature headlights. I believe it is a straight swap.

That was my backup plan and I did see one listed here in marketplace but ultimately ended up ordering Morimoto. They've already shipped so there's no turning back now! Let's hope they work out and there aren't any issues.

So Vlands was always known as an economy brand. Not the highest quality headlight with a low price point. I've personally never ran them because I've always ran the higher end brands.

I've ran Morimoto in all of my F150s and even on my Bronco. We ran the XRGB on my Bronco. Now, we had a pre-release kit. We had 1 of 2 pre-release kits (the other going to an employee at Morimoto). I never had issues with the DRL but a lot of folks who ran the XRGB have reported DRL diodes failing. Morimoto will warranty them but it can be a hassle to have to do that time and time again.

The Morimoto XB were pretty good, but did not have that color changing DRL that folks wanted. They were pretty rock solid on our truck when we ran them.

We ended up running the Form Lighting headlights, which basically look the same as the AlphaRex headlights. That's what is currently on the truck and no issues.

Now Alpharex and Form are basically the same thing if you look at them. Slight differences but the main different is Form is owned by Diode Dynamics so you get better support. Alpharex is primarily based overseas which is why folks get emails back in the middle of the night. They also have less of a warranty then other brands and i've found that their projectors are not that great. The Form Lighting share the same style projector sadly but you pay less $$ with Form and as I said, better support and warranty.

A lot of folks by AlphaRex and I think it's honestly just a marketing thing. We DO sell Alpharex but im not a fan of their support. It takes forever to get responses and the price is higher then other brands out there.

Back to Vlands, again, i've not heard anything GOOD about them. I've never ran them as I said but being in this business most of my life i've heard the name a LOT and it's never "MAN THESE VLANDS ARE FANTASTIC!" it's "THESE WERE ONLY$ 200 and work great!" because hey for $200 (or whatever the price is) sure why not!

Vlands also makes headlights for some other brands which is why you see their styles used on a lot of other pop-up brands, especially the amazon special ones (ya know those brands that don't make sense with the name and disappear 6 months later)

I would stick with a well known brand like Morimoto, Form or AlphaRex. Those are the top 3 brands in my opinion. Form is new but again, im in the business so I know where they are having their lights made which is why I can say stick with one of those brands I mentioned :)

Other brands out there are Anzo, Vlands, Oracle, etc... and are more of "economy" brands. Anzo had some decent products and I never had issues with them. But I don't think they make anything for the broncos. They were popular in the F150 world and a BIG seller for us until the amazon scam companies popped up and ruined the brand name (they would sell the brand for COST and then customers had issues and could not get ahold of anybody as the seller disappeared and/or sold you a knock-off under a different name, because again, there are only a few companies who make the headlights for everybody).

While we're on that subject, MOST of these well known brands don't actually make their own headlights. There are companies that make them and then these brands get involved and re-brand them with their name. They may change a few things/options but at the end of the day a lot of manufacturers share the same MAIN manufacturer of the lights. What you want to pay attention to is the company you buy from as you get better warranties/support/more hands on with certain companies.

Form for example has a LOT of hands on with their manufacturers. Diode Dynamics actually makes some of their own headlights in the USA which is cool but they don't make anything for Broncos.

Thanks for the input, very valuable. As I mentioned, I had ordered the Morimoto ones, but I suppose some of the people here were not mistaken. It’s only been a day since I installed mine and I already noticed an issue with one of the headlights where standing what colour I picked the LED to be, there is bleeding of some other colours in the behind. I have contacted the seller and they said they will initiate a warranty claim.

Obviously, this is quite annoying as while it may not be difficult to do the install. It is time-consuming, and I would be worried about opening and closing the plastic tabs repeatedly so as to not end up breaking them.
