I just installed heated seats from Canada seat skins. They are no where near hot enough. I have tried oem heated seats and they were really hot. I don’t want to get into buying modules and wiring harness. Has any one used ford oem heated seat grids with and aftermarket harness and switch? The grids are fairly cheap. I would suspect them to have built in temperature sensor.

There is a built in temperature sensor, but without the module, that really makes no difference. The logic in the module is what cycles the power to the grid and regulates the temperature based on input from the sensor. Beyond that, I suppose you could simply use a switch to supply voltage, but there’s nothing to protect it from over temperature issues and potentially burning up the heater grid.

I was thinking I could use an aftermarket harness and module that comes with the cheap kits or the seat skins kit I already got.

Oh maybe. I suppose it’s worth a shot
