Well, sad to say, I have reached my boiling point with this whole experience.

I am an original reservation holder with 2021 MSRP price lock guarantee from Ford and the dealership. My Bronco was built late September of this year and was held up from delivery on the rail until late Nov. It arrived to the final destination railyard here in MA a little over an hour away from the dealership on Dec. 4th and still has not been transported to the dealership. My estimated delivery date has been pushed back a week or two every week since the original estimate of mid-October (like many of us on here) and when I called Ford the other day they said it is now pushed to Dec. 31st.

So, that is the pertinent background info. The problem is that when I called Ford a few times over the last couple months every rep. tells me my price protection certificate expires at the end of this year. And all 3 Ford reps. told me they didn't think a new one would be issued for the new year and that I must talk to the dealership and see if they will still honor the price.

Well, my dealer gave me my out the door price back in early October and I got the bank check then thinking it would be at the dealership any day. Now the dealer is saying they will only honor that price protection if Ford does even after I told him that multiple reps said after the 31st it won't be honored by Ford but up the dealership. After threatening to write bad reviews, this lazy dealer got off his ass and spoke to the owner who told him that is not true and price protection would still be honored but I got nothing offical in writing besides his vague email saying that. (I do have email proof of the exact price we agreed upon in October if that matters) I plan on driving down to the dealership today and even told them I would be willing to buy it 100% today before I go away for the next week and do the paperwork and pretend like the vehicle is there and just do registration and inspection when it actually arrives and he shut that down saying it is not possible to do a transaction on a vehicle not yet in stock.

So, my questions to you:

1) Is it true original reservation holders will no longer get Price protection in 2023? I thought we did?

2) What can I say or do to get the dealership to put it in writing that we have already a deal in place for specific price as this has been the agreement for the last 21 months now and they are making it sound like I will still get it at MSRP, BUT 2023 MSRP not 2021. This pisses me off because why should I pay 2023 pricing on a 2022 Bronco that I have 2021 MSRP pricing on?

3) Any other words of advice so I don't land in jail today if this all goes even more sour on me?

Sorry I wish I had some actual answers for you. But I don't understand how a 2022 model would not have price protection irregardless of when it actually finally made it to your dealer.

I mean I would expect some messed up stuff for 2023 models. Now with price protection there are two different things. One is the certificate, and honestly it's not for that much. Like $700 maybe depending on your trim.

It's the second price protection, that comes directly from Ford as a rebate after the fact (AKA not a certificate at time of purchase) And that was for the price jump from 2022 to 2022.5 increase.

So before you end up in jail, make sure that what they're saying expires isn't just the first price protection certificate (And I'm not saying that doesn't suck, but with everything going on... It's really the $1,700+ one that really matters the most)

That's not a good time at all. Sorry to hear about that @Delli555 I hope there isn't a huge uphill battle ahead but they sure are not winning any fans with that. The thing is, the dealer will still get their money from Ford. This was helpful for me even to understand what I may be in for.

Whatever you're feeling, and believe me, been there....this is not the dealership's fault. Yes, they can should fight for you to honor the PP....but if F*RD says no...it's F*RD who's the problem. I'm still fighting to get my 200k pass points after my 21 got lost in space and pushed to 22....

Keep your e-mails, as long as they state the dealership will honor past the 31st, you should be fine. You got to remember that the dealership nor Ford are at fault when it comes to the rail yard. Ford got it out the door produced to your specifications. If the rail yard has reasonable explanation for their hold up, ie weather etc, then they are doing their part. The dealer is nowhere in the equation until it arrives on their lot. But like said previously, find out which PP cert they are saying is expiring on the 31st. When you got pushed from 21 to 22 model year you should of gotten a second PP cert. But this is an uphill battle either way, and I feel for you as I had a push on mine but not the length of your build.

So the GM spoke to Ford and confirmed it is "on hold" at the railyard. He claims sometimes they actually will fix them at the railyard rather than sending back to factor or to the dealership to take care of it. He also said that it might another week before he has any more details since the Bronco team at Ford is on vaca for rest of the year.

He said he will try and give me an update on what is going on once he hears back from Ford, as it could be like a recall thing or damaged on the rail or who knows what else.

He, of course, would not make me any guarantees on anything, but he believes that most likely a new certificate will be issued to me once the new year starts. He says what I assumed the last few weeks- the Ford reps are too low on the chain to know how it works and are just reading off the expiration date they see in the system and that dealer I have been in communication with doesn't really know the ins and outs of how it all works that good either so I have been getting bad info from both sides. He again wouldn't say with 100% assurance, but said in the past the the price protection date should update in SmartVincent once the 2023 begins.

So, I feel a little better about things but not 100% sure if I do get the two price protection certifcates and if they will indeed base it off 2021 MSRP and not 2023. Hopefully, this all works out but it sucks cuz already enough stress and anxiety around this with all the waiting it would be nice to know the number isn't going to change on me and surprise me when I go to buy it and turn a happy day into a miserable one.

Are you stuck in East Brookfield? Mine has been there since 12/9 and I my delivery window just got bumped to 1/21-1/27. If only we could just go get them ourselves.

You could settle up now and not worry about it rolling years, as you suggested. I went ahead and did paperwork as soon as I knew mine was off the train and waiting on a truck carrier to build a load to deliver to my area. They will not deliver just one vehicle.

Yes! Been stuck there since the 4th. Have you heard any details what the hold up is with yours?

I proposed that but this dealership won't do that for "various reasons" such as if my vehicle was badly damaged during transport. They basically said if isn't in their system as in stock they won't get into that in case something big goes wrong.

Nothing! My dealership had originally told me that once they get dropped off in East Brookfield, it usually arrived at the dealer in just a few days. They seemed pretty confident I'd see it on 12/13. Well, that is way in the rearview now. I can't help but think something is really messed up down there in the yard. I've been keeping in touch with @Dino171 because he's in a similar boat. We're keeping each other updated on any news we get.

RELAX!!
I think somebody got their wires crossed at Ford or the Dealership. You Get Price Protection for your MY2022, regardless if it arrives in the year 2023. There is a different method to determine price protection that applies to vehicles that are MY2023.

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/the-ultimate-2022my-price-protection-flowchart.46571/
That is what I assumed, but Ford reps. were making me nervous and had me questioning this the last month since they seem to think I won't have an extension into 2023. Like the GM said today, he thinks they are too low level to know any better than what the computer screen tells them.

What dealership is yours going to from there? I will let you know if I get any more details on what the hold is if the GM gets back to me next week with any more info. Best of luck getting yours soon!
