So I thought I would create a post on a couple of mods I did on the cheap, but with great results. I know most fellow Bronco’ers spend close to $1000 on lights and $1500 + on audio upgrades, so I wanted to put a cheaper alternative out there. First I knew from reading post on here the audio was going to be my first priority, I went with 4 JVC DR series speakers/tweeters. The dash fit fine but due to size of tweeter I had to “hole saw” the stock grills in rollbar to get them to fit (see pic). Then for bass I got a boss powered sub, I picked this over the Kicker due to size, as us 2 door folks know we have limited space in back. As you can see from pic this fit like a glove with about 1/8 of a inch on both sides.
The results: excellent, Plenty of crisp sound from the 4” and good bass from the sub, tops off you can run volume around 18-20 and sounds great.
Cost: under $400 with all the connectors and what not. I did pay a pro $200 to do the sub cause well honestly, I got lazy and I wanted it done right, so total was 600
I really wanted the ford racing lights for the mirror pillars but could not bring myself to spend $450 on 2 lights, so I went to harbor freight and got there 3 inch lights instead. I also needed a light for the rear due to backing up my driveway so I did the 6 inch flood on top of the factory break light.
The results: Plenty of bright light both forward and aft, factory aux switches made this a breeze
Cost: under $200
I put a link to every thing bellow along with some pics if anybody’s cheap like me!!!!
