For the MY23 Price Protection, does it still apply if you change the model? Currently have an OBX order in but considering switching to Wildtrack and wondering if I'd still have some price protection or not. Order for OBX was as of Feb 2022.

The private offer for MY'23 is based on the old build order. You can make whatever changes that you like. It doesn't change the amount.

So since my original order was a OBX that was not a reservation but was ordered before Sept 9th then I'd get a $2595 private offer regardless of which model I ultimately take delivery on?

Yes, if you had a 4-dr OBX MY'22 order, the Group B private offer for that build is $2595. The private offer can apply to any MY'23 Bronco except Raptor or Limited Heritage Edition.

My dealer seems to be not aligned with the flowchart. They're telling me that since my order with them was on 1/1/22 that I should have a $2845 Private Offer on my Outer Banks but that if I change to Wildtrack then I lose any price protection or private offer. is there any way to get clarity?

I had seen one video where a person noted that the dealer could search today for a Private Offer in my name even if my order hasn't been scheduled. Is that correct? My dealer is saying they can't search until it's built.

Last model year's program had communicated that changes to build (trim, door count, engine) negated private offers for MY'22. That has since changed with the latest communication on the MY'23 program. The dealer can indeed search today. All they will find is the MY'22 private offer attached to your name. The MY'23 private offers are not expected to be loaded in Smart VINCENT until after the 11/21/22 deadline to convert.

To be clear, you don't have to have anything built to receive the private offer. All you have to do is take delivery of a MY'23 Bronco and that the Bronco is not a Raptor or Limited Heritage Edition. Get tired of waiting and find a MY'23 Bronco on a dealer's lot? Buy it and apply the private offer to that sale.

Point them to Ford FAQ at the beginning of this thread:

What types of changes can be made to the order now without impacting the 2023 Bronco Model Year Transition Private Offer amount?

2023 Bronco Model Year Transition Private Offer amounts are based on what was reserved or ordered prior to the MY changeover. Changes to orders after September 9, 2022 will not impact 2023 Bronco Model Year Transition Private Offer amounts.

Ah, Thanks for that clarification of waiting until post 11/21/22 to see the MY23 Private Offers. I had missed that part.

That deadline is because any that don't convert from MY'22 -- MY'23 will have the order deleted from the order banks. It would be premature to load a private offer for someone that may have the order deleted. Now, I don't know if on the morning of 11/22/22 the private offers will be loaded (I doubt it). But after the order banks are cleaned up, then the MY'23 certs will be loaded that apply.

Alright... 2023MY time!

If any of this is wrong please let me know ASAP. I don't want to add to the confusion.

As of today (Nov 4th, 2022) we are about a 1-2 weeks away from the beginning of 2023MY production. I want to stress that the information in this post is only valid for those taking delivery on a 2023MY Bronco, and is NOT valid for 2022MY Broncos nor will it be valid for a 2024MY Bronco.

ARE YOU TAKING DELIVERY OF A 2022MY?
You're in the wrong place. Check out the 2022MY Price Protection Thread.

Unlike 2022MY, all 2023MY price protection rebates will be handled via private offer certificates in Smart VINCENT under Pgm #38644 (last year it was split between private offers and retail price protection). These private offers should be visible to the dealer when you go to pick up your vehicle. You and your dealer have two options when applying price protection:
  • Apply the price protection to the final selling price of the Bronco at the time you take delivery. In most situations this makes the most sense due to sales tax.
  • Pay the full price for your Bronco and wait for Ford to send out a check after you take delivery.
Exactly how much you qualify for depends on WHEN you ordered/reserved and WHAT you had reserved/ordered as of Sept 9th, 2022. Refer to the flow charts and price table below. Note that it does not matter what you order for 2023MY, your price protection amount will remain the same regardless of what you order for 2023MY. (The exception to this rule is if you switch your order to Raptor or end up purchasing a Heritage Limited. Both are ineligible for price protection.)

Keep in mind this is simply the protections Ford is offering to you as an order holder. However, the final selling price is ultimately between you and your dealer. Ultimately Ford cannot guarantee the final selling price of the vehicle and (generally speaking) cannot protect your from dealer markups. They can only protect you from the MSRP price increases they themselves have added through the past year or so.

If you would like more information on this... here are a few resources:
What happens for those of us with a Badlands (or Black Diamond) Reservation from 11/2020 when the modular bumper was included? It is now $575, will there be a separate rebate check for this when I pick up my Bronco?

@RagnarKon Any word on '23 residual values? Similar to '22, lower, higher?

I'm highly considering leasing mine, as I know there is "supposed" to be a refresh in the next 2 years, and well, yeah.

There is no separate rebate for the modular bumper as it is included in the the price protection certificate. That’s a big reason why the difference between Group A and Group B is ~$950 for the Badlands / Black Diamond, and only $300-$400 for most of the other trims.

To be honest I’ve never leased a vehicle and therefore don’t pay attention to residuals and rates. I tend to avoid car payments like the plague and therefore I’ve always bought my vehicles outright, or if the rates are low enough (<2%) I’ll get a ~1-3 year loan to ensure I don’t fall underwater.

Considering how well the Bronco holds its value overall, it probably financially doesn’t make sense to lease. Since most used Broncos are selling for above MSRP… if you take out a 5-year loan on the Bronco with any amount of down payment you’re already ahead on your loan. But, again, I haven’t looked at the numbers. The finance guy I normally talk to is out until after Thanksgiving, but I'll ask when he returns.

Fair enough. I'm not at the level where I can buy vehicles outright. However, based on the 2022 residuals, Aplan, etc, my payments for a lease *should* only be $450/month. A lot more digestible up front than $900-1,000 on a purchase. If I do decide to flip it, I can purchase it outright. Or if prices do go into a freefall due to a recession, WW3, etc, I can walk away free and clear.
