They are mad that it is not union made, but made by Americans who take pride in their work.

They will be calling out non union shareholders next.

The more I think about this, the more I think there won't be a strike.
You have a sitting Democrat President that has very poor approval going into an election year. The Unions are in bed with the democratic party. There is no way the puppet masters want anyting to happen to further drive down the current president's approval rating.
Someone will step in and force an agreement that likely screws the average worker but makes Execs and the UAW leadership happy.

Does anyone really blame the UAW? They are not the bad guys. The automakers and dealerships are the greedy ones who ultimately have already taken advantage of us with price gouging and ADM's. Even a 50% increase spread over the next 3 years is $6 per hour, per year? The first $6 in year 1, is probably is a catch up for the last 3 years of hyper-inflation, and the remaining $12 for year 2 & 3 is simply inflationary, and a "get it while you can" mentality. With 2.8 million cars sold last year don't be fooled into thinking these automakers and dealerships are not rolling in cash. They need to check themselves for greed, before they blame the UAW.

There are so many never-ending circles. Workers demand more money=cost go up= workers demand more money to keep up with cost that went up.

Workers say that “Big Business” is screwing the little guy and are only interested in their shareholders. Workers demand higher returns on their pension plan investments with “Big Business”.

I see a lot of complaints about RTW states in this thread. I moved from a non-RTW state to a RTW state 30 years ago and not just because of the great Elk Hunting (okay, that was a big part of it). I spent months trying to decide where to uproot my family too. One of my main considerations was the cost of living index and unemployment rate as I was moving there without securing a job first. I went from an COL index of 87 to a 118 (higher is actually a lower cost of living (money went farther)). Average SAT scores for students (which proved pointless due to participation rates), poverty rates, etc.

Anyway, I digress, there were many studies prior to C19 (2000-2018 to put a finer point on it) comparing RTW and non-RTW states, The Harvard study (bore you to tears), Wallace, NERA, etc., and all of them came to the same conclusions. A few of the more pertinent ones follow:

• Private sector employment grew by 27 percent in RTW states compared to 15 percent in non-RTW states.
• On average, the annual unemployment rate in RTW states was 0.4 percentage points lower than in non-RTW states.
• Personal income in RTW states rose over ten percentage points more than in non-RTW states, 39 percent versus 26 percent.
• As of 2019, about four percent of private sector workers in RTW states belonged to unions, compared with about nine percent in non-RTW states.

The last sounds like a big number but nine percent is not a big number when you think about it.

you are only looking at a small portion of the UAW ask. Asking for a 46% wage increase - even if spread over 4 years plus retirement benefits, plus pension, plus medical in retirement... etc. That's not 6 bucks. Look at the OEM spend per employee domestic vs foreign

It is not normal to demand those kinds of wages, then put an entire business sector out of work because you want more. Roughly 150,000 people are potentially preventing the remaining 2 million plus folks in the automotive sector from collecting their paychecks

Dealers with ADM fees - don't buy from them. If you think Ford or GM or Stellantis are charging too much for a vehicle - don't buy from them. The union should not have the power to shut an industry down cuz they don't like their wages
