Going to be pulling the smallest U-Haul trailer with a 2023 2.7 Badlands Sasquatch and was wondering what hitch drop I need to achieve the 18.5” height off ground for the ball that U-Haul recommends for hauling its trailers. Has anyone out there done this and know the drop offhand ?? Thanks

Easily answered using a tape measure.

Measure from the ground to the middle of hitch receiver
+ 1-inch
- Coupler height
= Drop hitch size
Hitch receiver on the Sasquatch Broncos is around ~20-inches off the ground... so looking at a ~3 inch drop hitch.

I‘ve rented & towed a lot of UHaul trailers. Never have they been picky about hitch height. Of course there’s always a first time 😂

You are lucky that U-Haul changed its stripes. 2 years ago you could not rent from them with a Bronco because it is a convertible (even with hardtop)

IMHO, spend extra and get the adjustable. Then you won't you won't have to worry if you rent or get a different trailer. Or tow vehicle.

Too bad for me that I bought three hitches before I figured this out :)

I run a 2.5" drop, and it barely clears my 35" spare tire on the top of the hitch -- just enough room to get the tongue in there on the ball to drop and lock it..

Here is pic of our Wildtrak with a small U-haul. If you zoom in you can see how far I had the hitch dropped.

We had furniture in the U-haul and some stuff in the back.

Ford Bronco U-Haul trailer hitch drop 20230717_071006

It towed perfectly. Only thing about U-haul is the 55mph limit they have for their trailers.
