Tube door will not latch

Yup! Unbolt the hinge area on the tube door, adjust up/down as necessary and then use the included shims. I needed to shim the heck out of one side.

I installed the ones I got from Ford last weekend. The passenger side latched first try. The drivers side didn't. The tube door was sitting too low to latch. I took the door back off, installed 2 of the provided shims on the bottom hinge, made sure the hinge was as far down on the door as possible, and then reinstalled the door. It has latched perfectly ever since.

great advice. I've had trouble with rear driver side door. however, i dont recall getting shims. what are they? simply washers?

You should have gotten a pack of stamped sheet metal shims for each door, powdercoated black to match the tube doors. They are easier to use than washers, since the holes are slotted. You dont have to completely remove the hinge mounting bolts to insert them. Not much info on them, and I had no idea what they were when I opened my boxes. Dont throw them out. Ford should make good though if they were indeed missing.

Mine fell out of the box as I was taking it to the garbage. I didn’t see a packing slip so I wasn’t expecting anything other than the doors.

Mine were installed, I ended up taking some from the passenger side to shim enough for the drivers side. I had to cut one in half to get enough shims to do the job. Once you get them set up it works fine.
