Triangle on Rear Passenger Window

What is the purpose of the small triangle on the lower-back corner of the rear passenger window? Is it hiding something they couldn't design around? Guide for the glass?

That's a black diamond... The other 3/4 of it is inside the door.

The bottom of the glass has to be cut on an angle so that when the window is fully rolled down it doesn't stick up at all. Unfortunately, this means when it is fully rolled up there would be a hole so that plastic piece is there to cover it.

Look at the size of the window, then picture the glad dropping down into the door. Note the size. The glass isn't square

A little different explanation of it :

Look at where the "front" of the rear fender /wheel well is located... The window overlaps that feature so when the window is lowered it must "tuck in" at the bottom of the door, and therefore needs a notch out of it to go down all the way (like the others said)...

It's the "Get the 2-door" triangle.
