Transmission cooler?

I'm still waiting on it, but I read this
"with the 2.7, there is no cooler directly in the fan path. Both the transmission and oil have heat exchangers tied into the engine cooling system. Those also have valves, controlling the flow of cooling in those heat exchangers"
so there's no dedicated transmission cooler that an aftermarket bumper or skid plate would interfere with?

Yes transmission and oil use heat exchangers using the engine cooling system. The turbo intercooler uses air exchange behind the rectangular opening in the bumper. You should be sure aftermarket equipment does not block this.

Hey @Texasliam - @dgorsett nailed it. The transmission and oil heat exchangers are a liquid-to-liquid design. They both use coolant to cool the transmission fluid and engine oil (separately). It's a clever design which helps increase temps at cold start-up and maintain them well during normal driving.

The intercooler is 'low' mounted and some customers have had issues with high IAT (Intake Air Temperature) due to winches, light bars, and other items mounted in front of the stock intercooler. In comes our High-Mount Intercooler. We designed this, specifically, to help keep IAT temps down when running winches, light bars, bumpers, and skid plates.

According to the factory service manual, only the Raptor's 10R60 gets an oil to air cooler in the front as well as the liquid heat exchanger. This is really odd given the weight of the Bronco on the 2.3 and 2.7 configurations you'd think those would have the same cooler.

My Ford Fusion Sport with the 2.7 EcoBoost V6has an oil to air trans cooler as well as the liquid heat exchanger for its tiny 6F55.
