I gave my thoughts about towing my boat with a 2.3L Auto Black Diamond 4dr. Granted I don't have too much mileage on it, and can't speak for elevation. But as far as power passing on highways and driving confidence I'm more than satisfied.

Thanks I read that thread. It made me think I could get away with the 2.3. I’m really hoping someone has some first hand experience towing with the 4cyl up a hill. My route for camping is a long sustained grade along a 2 lane truck route. The ability of my Bronco to giddy up, and get around those big rigs is a must.

I’ve towed this almost a dozen times now and actually pretty impressed with it. It’s a Big Bend with the 2.3 manual. I don’t use 6th gear towing but other than that it does great. I never placed an order so I was stuck with buying what I could find and my dealer made me a fair deal on this one.
