Hi, This is my first post on this board. I'm close to purchasing a new Bronco but I've got a tough decision. I'm deciding between these two vehicles:

- 2024 Carbonized gray Badlands, Sasquatch (Everglade wheels), Hard top, leather trim, Mid package
- 2024 Shadow black Badlands, Sasquatch (Everglade wheels), Hard top, High Lux package

I've got some good pricing lined up on each vehicle. I really prefer the carbonized grey color, but on the other hand I'd like the lux package that's on the Shadow Black. The vehicle will be used for camping trips and light off roading and would be my everyday driver although I work from home so there's no commuting involved. I also live in Alaska and will be flying to the lower 48 to pick up the vehicle. I'll have to close the deal remotely before seeing the vehicles in person. I'm kind of torn 50-50 right now. Any opinions would be welcome.

My 2¢:
  • Black > carbonized grey
  • Vinyl > leather trim (for the washout flooring, plus it looks/feels better IMO)
  • High lux > mid package

I changed my order from carbonized grey to black after I saw how good they looked in person, especially if you add gloss black door handles, mirror caps, etc.

Grey hides the dirt better but the bronco looks good when it's dirty so it hasn't bothered me as much as it would with a different car

Is my recommendation, that Lux Package is fabulous since you get you the 360 cameras.

Do you need the 360 camera, heated steering wheel, zone lighting B&O sound system and adaptive cruise, then Go with the Black Bronco, they do look good in black.
But if you don't need those things get the CG bronco. I drive a Mid package bronco and the only thing I miss is a front camera, so I added a woflbox problem solved. and I only use cruise when going through towns with stupid low speed limits so adaptive cruise would never get used.

Well, it comes down to the interior. I have a 21 Badlands Lux package. I wanted the leather seats, and I wanted all of the things it brought. In 21 that also meant the big screen.

Now I am not sure what packages come, but I will say the 360 parking cams are great. I use mine all the time. I say get the Black High Lux. That way, you have everything and will not need to add. I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

My current vehicle is quite old and does not have any new technology. No screen, no cameras, no nothing. I'm sure either vehicle will be a big step up for me. As far as the 360 goes, I really don't know if I need it or not. I do like the idea of the better stereo system on the lux after reading negative reports on the base stereo.

Oh the better stereo is only slightly better, you would be better served going the mid and upgrading the stereo. since you are not used to the Niceties you will be fine with Mid once you go lux it is hard to go back, But our previous vehicle before the Bronco was a 09 Suburban LTZ and other than cooled seats (which you cant get in any bronco) I don't miss anything.
Oh and it is a pretty small vehicle so I never needed the 360 camera, but I live in rural Texas so there is that.

I think the lux package will mean more to you than you think it will. I got into my Bronco from a 2008 Mustang, which clearly had none of the fancy features things are coming with now. Because of that, I didn't want to pay extra for any upgraded packages, I was looking to save money. I went to look at a completely basic, shadow black Big Bend. The website had this azure grey color that I also liked. I drove the shadow black, and liked it. I asked about the Azure Grey one. The color itself was more, but I really, really liked how it looked. but it came with the mid package that I didn't want to pay for. As you can tell by my profile pic, I ended up paying for the mid package I didn't want, to get the color I did want.

I have no regrets. The features from the mid package that I didn't care about, I actually kind of like and I'm glad I paid for them now. I didn't think I'd care about the heated seats, but they are kinda nice. Dual zone climate? Eh, whatever, I rarely haul around passengers, but when I visited my mom it was nice to have. I really like the blind side traffic sensors, and actively miss them when I drive the Mustang now.

Getting features allows you to reserve your right to change your mind about them. If you don't have them, you're just SOL like I am with 4A (wish I had it). You actively want those features. You're going to miss them if you don't have them, and you can't really change your mind down the road easily. Color? That's an easier compromise. I'll pay more for a color I really want, but I will never accept loss of a feature or capability I really wanted, just to get a specific color.

No matter what trim it is, go with the shadow black painted top. I have it on my wild track and it’s a game changer

I think you’ll appreciate the heated steering wheel and seats in Alaska- if you haven’t had them before you will be very pleased

I chose Lux over Mid and have no regrets. The 360 camera is great and I love the sound of the B&O system. There are other niceties like the lighting. I also prefer vinyl over leather. But I get the dilemma, because the carbonized grey is very nice. That was my first choice on color but I went with white instead because I couldn't find what I wanted in the grey. White made sense for me because I bought a white 92 Wrangler (totaled after 4 years), a white 97 Wrangler (primary for 28 years), and now a white Bronco Badlands.

I've had 3 black vehicles. Never again. Always look dirty and show every scratch.

This. If you like having a clean vehicle stay as far away from black as you can, lol. After a black Jeep and pickup never again.

If you are a clean freak remember: "You don't own a black vehicle, it owns you"

Given your stated use "camping trips and light off roading", you are likely overspending quite a bit for Badlands+Sas. That said, vehicle color smacks you in the face every time you look at it, so I'd get the color you really want, unless there's some key lux item you'll use a lot on the other vehicle.
