I’ve read through the forums on these and they seem to keep getting buried, but has anyone solved:

1. Permanently shutting off the “Hands on Steering Wheel” driving distraction? 😑

2. A solution for the “knee hitting the headlight switch” issue? Probably an “is what it is”, but thought I’d check. 😉

3. Better ventilation in the cargo area for my fur babies. I have the underseat vent mods and a seat-mounted USB fan from Amazon, but there is literally zero airflow back there! 🐕

I just trained myself to get out differently. Instead of ”leading with my knee”, now I keep my right knee low and swing my foot out first. After a while it just becomes habitual. (It’s still a bad location for the knob, though…) 😝

Never had an issue or heard of 1 and 2. For 3, crank up the AC, point the vents up, and crack the rear windows a bit might help. I'm a two door and pup rides in the front when she does, no issues with rear passenger flow when there's one back there either. Good luck!

No real issue with 1 or 2. My rear vents have never worked but plan to get them fixed soon before 36k mile warranty is up. Even in hot Texas summer, max AC pointed toward the back seems to be ok. With a car seat though kids will get hot potentially.
My main gripe is squeaking items. Visor and back top during road bumps. Will get them fixed before warranty is up, but it’s not an easy drop off with dealers here.

An FYI, those under seat vents only work when the selector is set to floor. Shitty design for a modern vehicle.

Have experienced all three. The “hands on steering wheel” is probably the most annoying to me. It doesn’t like it when I have my hands at 9 and 3. It doesn’t like it if my left elbow is on the arm rest and I’m steering with my left hand only.

#3, rear seat ventilation - I just shake my head that Ford couldn’t have done better.

i just live with all of them. Is what it is.

  1. Hold onto the steering wheel while driving.
  2. Install a safety cover over top of it similar to a plastic enclosure over a fire alarm pull station.
  3. Take the top off.
😁 ;)

Never had a #2 issue, lol....can't see how you can bump it.

#1 for sure, I'd rather leave it on but tired of the nanny.
You left out HONK HONK when you least expect it.
Driver's seat...at first seemed best ever, but a year later, have to use a cushion to keep my right leg from cramping.

Your 1 solution doesn't work. It wants input, so when you're going down a straight road, and straight!, you'll get the warning.

I never recalled this being an issue for me. Probably because I rarely used ACC.

I’ve never heard of #1 issue 🤷🏻‍♂️. Does that happen only when cruise control is set? Does it happen when lane keeping is turned on? I ask because I never use either and have no idea about this “nanny” you people speak of 🤣

#2 annoys me, but is what it is.
#3 non-issue for myself.

Yes, and even with that set on, it’s just a whisp. Guess I’m buying a fabric tape measure, some fan-assisted ducting and skinning those knuckles.

#1 has nothing to do with ACC...when the lane-keeping is on, it's ready to nanny you for driving too straight.
