This. The $2500 non-refundable bump in deposit from the original $500. That makes little sense, especially if the dealer already ordered. Sounds like the dealer is trying to scam the buyer for more money up front. What doesn’t make sense is, they want 2500 to convert but they converted without getting 2500 from you. This smells. You need to speak to the GM. I think at this point, you should work things out with your original dealer rather than switch. It’s only 2 weeks from the deadline. Take somebody to lunch if you have to, works most of the time. Good luck.
I went back to the dealership, Classic Ford in Columbia SC , they still said it could not be changed, so I showed them the comments on this website, they went back to the back room and finally said they can change it . So you all were correct, I was just going bye what the dealership said , they were apparently lying or just lazy. Thanks for correcting this for methis isn't true either

Thanks for correcting this for meI just want make sure I'm understanding this correctly so as I dont scare myself after reading your story. Are you saying that the dealer ordered a Bronco without you giving them your build? Surely they would need this beforehand, could you clarify by what you mean when you say " order that the dealership put in without your knowledge? "?

Changes can easily be made, after the order has been submitted. I have done two changes, so far. Your dealership screwed you. Please don't cause other to be screwed, by passing bad information.

Thanks for correcting this for meSad that Ford had to create a work around to subvert the criminal dealers...

Thanks for correcting this for meThis is only part of what was the instructions from Ford. The rest is contact Ford with both old and new registration and they will take the new reservation number and change the timestamp to the original reservation number and spot in line.
Again this is one of the instructions that was put out from Ford. The way most people are doing it is calling Ford having the order switched back to a reservation then moving the reservation.
You can make changes until VIN creation. There are several members here who have already changed their original submitted order. A few have done it multiple times.
Hate to break it to you but your dealer is feeding you a line. If your dealer allows you can change your order every hour until Ford provides you a VIN. If your dealer is doing this to you. You probably still have time to try and switch dealers. Look at some of the threads here from the Dealers. They have provided us a lot of information that is beneficial. There are to many dealers like this unfortunately.

Thanks for correcting this for meharperrb - I had a similar experience where my dealer in Denver converted my reservation to an order without my knowledge or consent. I learned about the conversion when I called the 1-800 number to switch dealers to Granger. The original dealer said it was "inadvertent error." Yea right. Anyway, I think I first called around 1/25. After a letter and 6-7 calls to the 1-800 number that were worthless as I could get out of the representatives were "they are working on it - try back in a week," I finally received a call from Ford today. They had me get a new reservation, switched my early timestamp to the new reservation and then I'll cancel my original reservation/order. Up until today's call I was getting real nervous that this was not going to get resolved by 3/19.
