Tension wire broke on 22 bronco

my tension wire broke. The dealer says I need a new soft top. I find that hard to believe. Anyone have this happen to them? Or have any insight? Pictures attached

Where there is a will, there is a way.
Buy yourself some wire and fasteners and fix it yourself.

If you do get a new top, check FB marketplace and whatnot before paying for one at the dealership. Seems to be plenty still in their crates from the dual top crowd..
