Sync 6.3 update issue and display problems

A few days ago I noticed my Bronco stopped showing the song and artist names on siriusxm channels on the main audio screen and weird display glitches on the right side small audio display. Check the photos attached.

I tried restarting sync several times with no improvement and then checked the most recent update, which shows 6.3.0 was “not completed”. I’m not sure, but I have a feeling these issues are related to that. The “update now” button is grayed out so I can’t force it to retry the update. The about sync screen shows my software version as “23291_PRODUCT” which also seems strange.

Has anyone had the sirius display issue or update issue? Any fixes?

6.3.0 is an APIM (Sync module) update and Sync 23291 is the latest available version for 2021-2023's. I do see some conflicting info in your case. PTS shows you got a Sync update on 8/21 that took you to Sync 23291.

However, the OTA dashboard in PTS says the update failed with coincides with your truck saying the update was not complete.

Not sure what the heck happened here. I'll see what I can find out. Do you have FORScan?

I'm having similar issues with SiriusXM. I'll have to look at my update info to see if I have the same issues.

@mhorvath1218 OTA was a partial install and it messed things up. We can help you fix it, or you can take the dealership route. Message if you're interested in the fix.

Temperature font is also wrong for 23291, definitely some sort of weird incomplete install issue. @mhorvath1218 if you take Javier up on working through a fix I'm happy to let you borrow my cable since the line is long for his. Let me know

update 6.4.jpg
the 6.4 update...
6.4 is an update to the TCU (telematics) module that followed the 6.3 update for the APIM (center screen)

Mongoose is fortunately not needed in his case. I have the fix from the guru already.

thank you! Yes I do have Forscan and the cable to connect it. I’m willing to work through a fix if I have everything I need already. I really appreciate your help.

Based on the time stamps I see in the 2nd photo, I think I know what happened. That was right around the time I got in my bronco and the screen was black. No bronco logo, no animation sequence and no display at all, however audio worked, buttons worked and I believe carplay connected. Just no screen. I never had that issue before, so I did the power button/next track reset multiple times trying to get my screen back. Probably did it 4 or 5 times before I was back in action. Perhaps it was in the middle of my update when that all happened. I never received any kind of update notification before or after that though.

FORScan won't be needed, either. I'll message you now. The fix is not a one-size-fix-all kinda thing that I want to post publicly.

So far I've notice my Sirius xm acting up...haven't notice much more than that ....
I'll have to read the posts again of the other issues and check back
