Switch by clutch pedal hanging loose

After pulling a wire via the firewall grommet I must have knocked the pictured switch loose. I cannot read part number, and cannot figure where it was attached. Apparently not the clutch lockout switch (won’t start with clutch engaged). Wiring too short to work w brake. ‘21 manual BadLands. Thanks

It’s the clutch pedal position sensor. Clips onto the side of the pedal assembly

Opted to take the driver’s seat out so as to assume the under-the-dash position……glad I’m supple. Still was pretty fiddly but got it done.

@Ducati1098 is there a second clutch switch on the Bronco? Not seeing anything else on the pedal linkage so perhaps a pressure sensing switch on the hydro side? as noted by OP even if this switch is disconnected the vehicle still knows if the pedal is in or out as prompted by the "push clutch to start" message.

Not seeing anything else on the pedal linkage so perhaps a pressure sensing switch on the hydro side? as noted by OP even if this switch is disconnected the vehicle still knows if the pedal is in or out as prompted by the "push clutch to start" message.

The only other sensor is a gear position sensor on the transmission case.
So maybe as long as it’s in neutral, it doesn’t care about the clutch pedal position? Not sure. I don’t have a manual to test it out.

@Ducati1098 Interesting, must be something we aren't aware of. the engine will not turn over without the clutch pedal pressed, and the dash prompts you with a warning to press the clutch pedal to start the vehicle. I was doing some diagnostics on a remote start work around and even with that switch identified by the OP bypassed the dash told me to press the clutch pedal (and sensed when I did).

I hijacked the OP's thread so I'll back away. If you come across any additional safety interlocks on the clutch in your travels, please let me know.

I’ll dig around in the wiring diagram when I get time and see if I can understand it. It doesn’t mention description and operation in the workshop manual that I saw when looking real quick.
