Perfect! You do what you have too! I brought home a three piece living room set in/on my ‘75 Mustang Mach 1. Chair and love seat nested together inside and the couch on top as the hatch was basically horizontal. And no, I didn’t die because I drove with the hatch up despite claims made otherwise by some forum members when driving with the hatch open!

I've been driving Broncos with the back hatch up for 20 some years. I must be really playing the odds here!

I really like that aspect of the 6G, when you don't have time for a full HT removal, pop the two front panels and lift the hatch .... 90% open air effect, LOL!
