stock tires in snow

I’ve been in some pretty deep snow, and the stock GY’rs worked great.

what year is your Bronco ?.....
is this with the Goodyear R/T tires - Rough Terrain ?
what tire pressure do you run in the snow ?
if so, good to hear

It’s a ‘22 badlands. I was running about 15 psi. They were the Goodyear MT’s that came with the Sasquatch package.

Living where snow is in the forecast five months a year and lots of freezing rain falls from the sky, there is NO substitute for snow/ice tires. Anything but a real, “mountain snowflake” tire is, at best, a compromise.

Yea, they changed the factory Sasquatch tire for 2025. Its not the same tire that came on your '22.

anybody been thru decent snowfalls with these yet ?

My wife’s 2022 Outer Banks Sasquatch has the same tires, we have been through 2 Northern Vermont winters and I have been very pleased with how the performed in the snow.
Currently has 41k miles and we will replace with probably the same tire this fall.

Yeah you aren’t wrong but most of us don’t live at Camp Santa Claus and need dedicated snow tires - just the occasional use is ok.

I mean, you know if you need dedicated snow tires or not

I live about 10 minutes from Vail Colorado, and Im driving on snow from November through April every year. I will say I was very surprised how well the stock tires handle the snow we get up here to the point where I’m considering getting another set when these are bald. Certainly better on snow than my old Toyo RTs

Same here. I’ve had a lot of new trucks and all oem tires have sucked in the winter and end up buying new. Good news is winter is 5-6 months away and can save up just in case it needs new rubber

I live at elevation in Utah and I’ve been researching the 2025 Badlands SAS stock 35” Goodyear MTs and snow performance for a few months. But — now the snow is here so we’ll see. I decided to put them to the test. Not enough to drive in and get a real feel yet, but soon. As noted, they ARE three peak snowflake stamped, for what that’s worth. Most of the research finds that the real differentiator with good snow performance is the rubber compound, not the tread or sidewall stiffness. It’s all about the rubber staying soft (enough) at freezing temps. And as someone also noted GOING is the easy part. STOPPING is the trickier bit. ;-)

Blizzak DMV2 handle well and grip even better in both dry and packed snow, not so great in 7in plus snow.

From what I’ve experienced so far this winter, these perform just fine for the winters we’ll have here in NY. I can’t speak for overlanding in 15” on a trail. But for what will normally accumulate on the roads, I have no complaints so far.

We have used the stock Sasquatch “Goodyear “ tires for the last three years here in northern Vermont and have found them to be quite good.
As a matter of fact we just installed another set of the same Goodyears as the original tires had 48k on them.

The 3P Goodyear RTs on my SAS are doing quite well here in CO. Just as well as my 3P KO2s on my FJ.

As I’ve witnessed through others’ misfortunes on YouTube, the problems with overlanding in 15” seem a lot more complex than which tire you’re running. Freezing steering and suspension components seems to be not uncommon among the folks who have gone with aftermarket parts. Personally, I’d be worried about not being able to see any trail conditions beyond “snowy.” But I think if you stay to a depth below the height of your running boards you’re okay. Good looking rig! Enjoy the upstate winter!
