Do you know the part number specifically that they need? I asked for it on my end and have just been checking around different dealerships using the part # and my VIN for both Ford and non-Ford (Autonation). It's not fun but not something the dealership will not do for you.

When I look at Ford.Parts.Com, there's a rack and pinion steering gear through Motorcraft that is on backorder and one through Ford Parts that seems to be available. When I click into the related parts on the Ford Parts unit though, the same spindle rod connecting end and steering gear assembly are on backorder. Hard to tell what's out there right now.

This sounds exactly like my problem. I am glad I am not the only one. Yes, mine failed out of the blue as well. Good thing that your shop was able to get a part to get it fixed. I am not so lucky. Its seems all parts go to new cars and none to warranty repairs, so Ford can meet its quarterly sales numbers.
Same problem with mine. Towed to dealership on 5/4 and still no ETA from Ford on the part…

I’ve also been dealing with this exact issue for months now. Towed to dealership on 5/4 and Ford still has no ETA…

Sucks that it's been that long. I know you want Ford to fix it, but there are several people here with steering racks you could probably get and fix it yourself and be back to driving it. Or even upgrade to the 3.0 steering rack.

I like that my 2-dr has a tight turning radius but in my opinion that tight turning radius is what makes the steering rack weak for wheeling.

Nope, no news on an available spare part yet. I really hope there is any summer left when Ford decides to make a part available. They sure have enough parts for the production line, but none for warranty repairs. I don’t think this is right. Yes, parts break. I get it. But this is going on for way to long.
Did this get fixed? I have my 22 Bronco in a dealership in Tigard for the same problem. 5 weeks so far with no parts.

Same here. No parts, since early June. No end in sight. Same dealership, though.

Just commented on another thread you were on :( I am on week 3 for the steering gear.

Mine didn't go out, but i noticed a weird sound when I would turn far right (think going up an on ramp that is a clover shape).

Went in, they said "we don't know what it is.. we cannot replicate that sound" Because I am a smart cookie, I recorded it a couple of times to have record. Sent that over and they immediately knew what was wrong.

I was lucky enough that they had a dealership loaner Ranger. But it ain't my Bronco :(

My steering is making a pretty sick sound every time I turn the wheel. You can hear it inside the vehicle and outside, too. So I guess there are different stages of the defect. I do pray they will get a spare part in the not so distant future. This is going on for way too long already.

Have either of you been offered a buy back from Ford? Maybe that isn't an option in your area. But everyone I talk to says that I might need to consider it :(

But I waited so long for mine. I can't imagine waiting again or trying to find a build I'm happy with on a lot :(

No fun all the way around :(

I did start the Buy Back process but was denied last Friday. I have 30k miles on it and i believe the lemon law is 2 years 24k miles in Oregon. So its back to waiting for parts from Ford. I am thinking of buying a take off part with low miles and putting it on. Ford is covering a nice 2022 F150 rental pickup but still........

Do you remember which driving mode you were in by chance? 2H, 4A, 4H or 4L?
