I wonder how they're going to approach the paneling that goes over top of that?

Something like this is what I'm waiting on...well that and the Bronco!

My thoughts exactly! This looks way too nice to be hidden under the OEM panel. Judging by the dimensions (just eyeballing), it looks like this will jut out too far for the panel to even fit properly.

Contacted JL Audio today and they sent me a photo of the setup. It’s a single 10ā€ TW1 that will go in the location where the B&O sun is.

Did they give you any eta for availability?

Iā€˜m thinking the separate rectangular panel (circled) is a grille to cover the storage bin opening.

I ordered my Kicker Key 500.1 today, now to wait for the Stealthbox.

I saw that, but couldn't figure out what it was. If that's the case, then maybe my future purchase :)

Seems you’d have to modify/cut out that panel storage compartment to get it to fit.

Yes, that storage compartment needs to go. I saw in another thread somewhere that you can cut the plastic welds and easily remove it.

As I am reading posts and searching sub options myself, I am wondering why ya'll would be waiting on a product from JL Audio versus something already available like the box from SRQ customs...Is it cost, quality, construction, prior experience with JL products? I have zero affiliation with SRQ, in fact I had never heard of them until now. It looks like a good box at a decent price. I was quoted around 1k for a custom box with a top of the line woofer (Earmark Car Audio in Plano, TX)

Honestly, I was just hoping JL would find a little different approach. All things being equal, the SRQ is a fantastic deal for an enclosure with a sub already built.
I went with Kicker coax and amps this round, running a HS10 for now but will be considering an upgrade in the future.

I actually like the SRQ product and am not opposed to it at all. I just didn’t want to take on something that extensive. I’m just going with a powered mini sub under the seat.

I thought about putting my HS10 under the seat (word is if you raise your seat 1" you can fit it, IDK if that is true)...iirc you're planning on the JBL nano right?

Yes, JBL BassPro Nano. It fits pretty good under the driver seat (from the backside though, which I’m fine with….just blocks the floor vent). It also fits well under the backseat, just at an angle and would have to remove it if you want to fold the seats down. I’ve only test-fit it though and plan to hook it up soon once I get smarter on all the wiring.

JL has the budget to do significant engineering vs a smaller company that may be making a box that fits but isn’t fully optimized. I also like that the JL is a 10ā€ speaker rather than an 8ā€. Nothing against SRQ as it’s my second choice. I will say that I prefer JL’s speakers over kicker, to me they are more accurate for music and less for boom. My last pair of JL 10W3ā€˜s I bought in 2003 lasted me through three trucks in different custom enclosures until I sold the last truck in 2020. I did have to replace the foam in about 2018, but that was a simple $30 process and restored them to full performance. If the JL offering is over $900 I’m going to seriously consider the $625 SRQ instead.

Now IF the JL was a powered sub!

I'm sure it's in the thread somewhere, but I wonder if the plug for the factory sub amp is there. In my case, the factory setup for the BO would probably fit my needs.

Once 2023s start coming out and we can see what they did different to include the sub and a non-BO system, maybe it'll be an easy way to retrofit.
