I bought a set of Oracle Fog lights 3 1/2 months ago for my new Bronco. Almost immediately I had fogging issues, after 3 months one of the lights went completely out. I asked Oracle to refund my money which they denied because I installed the lights. They told me fogging was normal. They did send me enough lights to replace the ones that are fogging. When I started taking the lights apart 5 out of 6 connections were corroded that’s why the one light was completely out. I really do like the look and the feel well made but for lights that costs north of $400 they shouldn’t do this. Pics will be included.

Unfortunately condensation in led pods is not normal. It doesn’t always result in failures but most of the time it does. That seems to be a recurring issue with many of the imported lights though. I’d recommend something more robust from Baja Designs or Diode Dynamics. We actually make a mod bumper fog light kit that uses Baja Designs lights. Its available in white or amber. Send me a message to learn about our special forum pricing

Sorry to hear about the expensive experience.

Good lights should not fog inside. You live in a high humidity state - a lot of rain and snow. All lighting has to have resilient sealing at all interfaces across the 120 degree temperature spread for your area. Seems like @ORACLE Lighting failed in sourcing proper seals and connectors. Good to know. They deserve the black eye for saying that is normal. That customer service person should switch to janitorial work.

The China made stuff is crappy plastics made with poor(lazy) molding techniques. It's more permeable to moisture, hardens faster because of the molding volatiles, and has poor tolerances. But if your supplier doesn't tell you where they got their stuff, your are buying hidden problems. Common supply chain issue. May as well buy Harbor Freight - at least you know what you are getting up front. And the pricing reflects it.

I agree with @DoYouBronco. I am happy with Baja Designs product. Never had a failure from seals or poor connectors in 12 years. (I did melt a wire and short a light on my Expedition, but that is on me.)

I'll pass along a Marines motor pool trick.
Slip a piece of heat shrink tube 3X the length of the connector over the line. Seal the connector.
Put a thin, like 0.01 mm thin, layer of clear silicone caulk over the seal interface gap. Enough to fill it, but not to gunk up everything around it.
Center the heat shrink tube. Start from the center and shrink out to the sides. Do not overheat the tube and melt it. Then it becomes very permeable.
Keep a razor blade handy in your glove compartment or tool kit if you ever need to slit the tubing to open the connector.
Since doing that, I have not had a failed plug connector in over 20 years.

Hope your next set of lights work out better.

Post Edit: I should have mentioned, in the engine bay, better to use "sensor safe RTV" silicone because of its higher temperature tolerance.

I did just that. I used heat shrink and I packed the plug with dielectric grease and lubricated the o-rings on the plug. I was going to get Flex Seal spray and spray them but I didn’t. Hopefully the problem goes away now. Supposedly the customer service agent said they bench test all replacement lights before they ship. I’m not sure why they don’t do it with all their lights.

Thank you for your support! We're happy to hear the lights are still kicking after 12 years. Just a friendly reminder that nothing lasts forever—eventually, something may fail, and that's completely normal. When that day comes, feel free to reach out to us. Baja Designs lighting is backed by a Lifetime Warranty.

Hello @mmild01 can you please DM me your order # so that I can look into this for you? We made changes over a year ago that eliminates fogging issues as you can see here https://www.oraclelights.com/blogs/...y-and-performance-of-part-5890-led-fog-lights all of our connectors are waterproof with O-Rings in the connector to prevent water from intruding into the connection. We have never seen corrosion you are showing even after years of very heavy use.

We are happy to assist you, please DM me your order # when you have a chance.

Amazon is a tough one for us to know because sellers are not identified by their actual business names so we can't tell if it's a reseller of a reseller, etc. If you get the lights you can DM me the batch code on the lights and we can confirm for you.
