Speaker Pods - Which Ones?

As we all know the audio system leaves much to be desired? Wonder about experiences with the different speaker pods? Likes.? Dislikes? Recommendations?

While we're chatting about this...

If anyone knows if in-vehicle door storage works with one of the aftermarket pods, let me know. The only reason why I haven't upgraded to aftermarket speaker pods yet is because I don't want to lose the ability to store the doors in the cargo area.

I have the Mabett pods. They’re okay. Material and finish are far worse than OE quality. Definitely not worth the $200 (plus speakers) price tag unless you’re upgrading your B&O with the Mobridge box to fix the DSP to them.

I gather that they make a good bit of difference on the base system with just a ForScan tweak.

I vote for upgrading the 4” pods and putting money into upgrading the subwoofer for 95% of folks.

I have the Mabett pods with Polk Audio DB652 speakers on my 4dr with B&O. I'm very happy with the speakers themselves and can tell a definite difference between the Polk's and stock. I'm not an audiophile but the sound overall is more "full" in the rear vs. the factory 4". I will say the quality of the Mabett pods is a bit lacking compared to the OEM ones and had I not bought them 2nd hand for notably cheaper than new I would be slightly disappointed.

I have the Mabetts, the bushings that come for 2dr are too long, have to trim shorter or get a longer bolt. The speaker “grill” perforations are too small in circumference and block about 3/4” of speaker so for mine I made perfs to allow sound out.

I have the SSV. Mine had the polarity backward at the SSV connector. There are good Ford diagrams in this forum to validate if you search for them. “Trust but verify “ It made a big difference.

I added foam to the back for sound improvement.

Could have been a bad Bach.

Did you go with the speakers from the MTI website or something else? I see they have 5 optios for adding speakers to the POD order.
