Yesterday I spent 4+ hours in the Bronco traveling from Middle Tennessee to North Mississippi. Some encouraging notes:

1. I got 22 mpg. Yes it is the computer measurement, which even if 1+ mpg off, still indicates good mileage. Remember: I have 33" tires now.

A few caveats: I was in Eco mode and I was following my wife in a 32ft Winnebago.

2. I spent probably 20 minutes in a torrential downpour. I mean going 40 in a 65 because you can't see. Even with spray from the camper in front of me, no leaks.

I'm at 1500 miles. I plan to change the oil myself while we camp. I'll share anything worth noting.

EDIT: Let me say, too, that it is comfortable to ride in long-distance. I was pleased.

Drafting behind the Winnebago to get in a few extra laps before refueling I see.

I've never had a modern Ford that was off by even a full 1 mpg. They're fine.

There's a whole bunch of us with Rangers who are off with an average of 1 mpg and as much as 4 mpg (post #9). Mine was 1-1.5 mpg off from the dash to my Fuelly app/hand calc until I adjusted it. It took about 5-6 tanks for it to read correct and now it's dead on. Hopefully the Bronco will be this easy to adjust if needed.

Did you update the computer with the new tire size? That I would think would affect the mpg calculation on there.

It’s worth noting that spraying of oil is still definitely a thing… just be suspicious of a really good “deal” offered by your local friendly waste hauler.

This was pre EPA, besides that we paved paradise (lower backyard) and put in a parking lot
