Since Dirty Dog 4x4 basically ceases to exist, who is going to step up and offer an insulated headliner for soft top broncos? Seems like it would be an easy item for someone that already offers Bimini tops.

Seems like a void in the market with enough demand to justify someone else stepping up? Or am I off base and owners will just switch to their hard top for colder months?

If you search this board, you'll find people that stuff comforters, blankets, mattresses (well, maybe not mattresses) and all kinds of other shit up there. I never used Bronco in the winter here, but I had several Wranglers (all soft top), and I was never cold in them.

Try a cheap 2-3" foam mattress topper cut to size. Youll be very happy.

I'm aware of the mattress trick. Just looking for something more purpose built, similar to what dirty dog 4x4 used to offer. The sound dampening would be an added bonus.

I used two layers of thin insulation panels, held up with two adjustable shower curtain rods (black, so they blend in-$9.99 ea at Walmart) plus a one by two board running front to back. Doesn't look too bad, and reduced the heat and noise.

I had a piece of this insulating sheathing lying around. Slipped it up over the front and rear roll bars from the back - just to see if it would help on hot days 100+ degrees.

Of course we had a cool spell after that but while driving around to see if I noticed and wind noise-deadening, I found I had to adjust my subwoofer down because I could actually feel bass rumbling in the Bronco at normal volumes. It’s a JL 12” in a Stinger box on the tailgate. I touched the sheathing to confirm, and it was shaking to the beat and propelling sound like an acoustic tile through the mostly empty cabin. The overall sound improvement to my system (with JL 6 channel amp plus a JL sub amp) was remarkable.

Found a shade for under $40 on Amazon - I’ll add it to clean up the look but I’m convinced on sound, expect it will def help on heat, and wind noise should hopefully benefit too (but who cares if not now that they sound system punches).
