Soft top broken tabs

I had the removal demo'd to me twice at a rodeo nearby. DO NOT SEPARATE the quarter piece from the rear window. They merely pop out from the bottom once the side windows are removed...and all will be will. Treat those quarters and rear window as one piece and this shouldn't happen. There have been reports of some breaks from just driving, but I suspect that's an outlier.

Same thing happened to me today. Followed everything to a t and was gentle as I could. Still snapped all 4 on the driver's side. I stopped after that. Idk what ford thought when putting these tiny clips in. Here are some pics of mine after I put the side windows back in.

I have had the exact same thing happened to me. I went to the ford dealership yesterday to have it looked at. It was not covered under warranty and they are asking around $672 to repair it.

Just broke off two of those tabs today because I was in a hurry. It's very easy to NOT break those tabs if you just grab by the plastic housing and not the cloth. Be mindful any time you take that back piece off.

My dealership ordered me a brand new panel covered by warranty but they can’t give me an ETA on when it will be in. Hoping sometime soon but it has already been a week of no ETA.

Rear Driver side on soft top…broke my plastic tabs. Suggestions? I searched back to March.

Looked at mine the other day and noticed all but 2 tabs broken off one one side. I know I didn't break them so I'm guessing the dealer was demoing it or messing with it before I picked it up. Used some clamps to hold it tightly in place and put some gorilla glue in the spots and it expanded and held perfect.

It was golf mill ford in des plaines IL. They told me they never seen this kind of repair before

Well it was originally two of my tabs that broke and while they were looking at the damage they broke the other three lol. That is at the dealership I got the bronc through. When I went to the dealership closer to where I lived, they told me it couldn't be warrantied because it is not a Ford part.

With the TSB and warranty replacements, seems like Ford agrees. Bookmarking this TSB and thread just in case.

my rear isn’t broken, but holy crap the side windows were crazy tight to stretch into place on my week old ‘22. Took me over an hour of working them and I’m still afraid I have too much tension to the seam. We’ll see.

When I first put my side windows back in, I thought there's no way I can reach this to the back piece. But there's a trick to it.

Flip the plastic channel on the side panel outward while standing alongside the car. Push the channel in only at the bottom first...pushing toward the back of the car with your palm until it "flips" into the groove on the back piece. Then keep pushing all the way up to the top in the same manner. My mistake at first was I was trying to get it all in at once.

I drilled small holes in both parts above and below the slots where the tabs hooked in and then threaded the wire through the holes.

I still don't get what you did there. How does the wire NOT need to go through the cloth?

I brought the TSB to my dealer. Had two broken tabs. They riveted both sides and it was covered by warranty.
