The whole waving thing has changed. I grew up driving an FJ40. We all waved and there was no rule. Over the years As Land Cruisers became a status symbol sold to drug store cowboys the waves diminished. Enthusiasts will most always wave, the rest of the crowd wont, they just want to look cool.
Disclaimer I didn’t read all the comments.
The wave started with the GP (Jeep) on military bases. When they sold them as surplus it carried over to the streets and it’s still done today. It is a Jeep thing but I do get waved at in my corvette. If I get waved at in my bronco by another bronco I’ll wave back. I’ll never wave to a Jeep though.
My guess is (especially during the first couple of years of production when there really won’t be many Broncos on the road yet) I will likely just point to the other Bronco driver as an acknowledgement. If the window or down or door off it will be out the side of the truck. In time as Broncos become more common it will wear off - but we early adopters deserve to recognize each other.
Don’t know if LR Defenders (not the New - which looks like a Honda Element) have a wave, cuz I never see another one.
Think I’ll start waving at New Defenders from my Element tho....
