I was under the impression that using lockers on a slippery road was a mistake. Putting the Bronco on “slippery mode” does not lock the differential, does it?
Unless you are stuck in deep snow, you do not want lockers on, it makes it more dangerous. 4A does NOT enable any lockers.

Also if you plan to make a lot of turns, I don’t think you want a locked diff. I don’t think Broncos have auto lockers, but correct me if I’m wrong.

Tires will make or break any vehicle in the snow. Lockers are not necessarily an asset in the snow and ice.

Bronco handled Chicago area snow no problem last year on the factory Bridgestones. Didn't have any issues. Just occasionally flipped it into 4H when necessary and flipped back to 2H once I got going. In my area, we get enough snow but not enough for me to ever consider snow tires. I used to drive mustangs year round and got around fine on the all seasons they had. Just had to be careful and pay attention. Now if I was in an area that was constantly getting hammered with snow, or just much more frequent snow than I would consider snow tires.

Personally didn't care to much for slippery mode the one time I tried it in a decent snow storm. Just felt the brakes were a bit to touchy and the throttle was way to numbed down.

I drove a rear wheel drive Ford Thunderbird with street tires in Cleveland for 3 years. The Bronco is way easier.

4A has been awesome for me so far. Have not needed lockers so far, but better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Same as my recovery strap...

I feel this. haha. I drove a 2012/2015 Mustang for 9 or so winters in eastern ohio. I think I'll be fine with the Bronco.

I just brought my Base 7Mt home through a blizzard in NoMi and drove through 14"of fresh snow in4H, no trouble at all. Factory Duelers work just fine but still have some Dynapros on order.

Tires are everything. I had a Rubicon with 35 but more desert rock crawling tires. Horrible on hard packed road. Stock little Toyota on skinny tires just drove on past. I ended up locking all 4 and sticking 2 tires in the ditch for traction. That was an eye opener as I have pull snowmobile trailers all over the west and up mountains so I know how to drive in the snow. AT Tires were worthless. I had other AT tires Goodyear KO's rocked in the snow. Best if sipped. Softer rubber had way better grip.
