Its because of the locktight. If anyone has taken these off before, when you reinstall them the loctite gums up the thread and will make an impact gun rattle long before the bolt is actually tight. So the tech changes the oil and impacts the skid back on and thinks its good (he stops when the impact starts rattling so he doesn't strip them), but the bolts are actually loose and the vibrating of the skid plate will quickly shake the bolts back out. You have to torque these back down with a ratchet or torque wrench.

I searched for my issue and this tread came up so I'll ask here. What is the factory part number for the skid plate that has to be removed on a 2023 2dr Badlands to change the oil ? It seems that I will be needing to purchase one as the local dealer that did the rear camera and shock recall left mine off when they also did the oil change. They declined to take responsibility. I do not think it fell off as It surely would have made a lot of noise and no other work has been performed since the recall/oil change.

It’s the mid engine plate - I don't have a p/n handy though.

Yep just confirmed. That needs to come off. The dealer is the next stop! Looks like the bolts originally have lock tight. Prob didn’t put any back on assuming they actually tightened bolts…
I have had mine off and on 5 times .And never used lock tight on the bolts..
