Hello I have a 23’ 4dr and noticed rust spots all over the vehicle. Hood, doors, behind fender flares, tailgate, above rear tail lights etc.

Anyone else have an issue like this? I ran it through a car wash and they’re still very prominent.

I also have an OBX in Cactus Gray… Beautiful color but the rock chips driving me insane and hurt my soul. I also have rail rust due to transport and a lot of googling stressing about it. Mine is definitely not as severe and just here and there, but glad your thread brought a lot of products to solve the issue and not make it an issue. Please let me know what product you felt was best as we have the same color… I’m just relieved this is fixable, but sorry for your current stress! I know the feelings and have had more oops in 6 months than I’d like to think of! Hood, fenders, and my 2 year old scuffing the back seat but got leather dye I haven’t used yet (and seat covers 😵💫🫠)… and his stroller putting a gash in my tailgate but a tactical organizer clipped on permanent solved that too. Broncos are so much fun! 😂😎🤘🏻

I had the same issue on my cactus grey I bathed it in 3 bottles of iron x and eventually it came out. But you will have to do it a few items especially if you have had the car for some time and it was not detailed by the dealer at initial purchase.

Does it require like a waxing process after? I’ve read that being required with a clay bar which I have but no idea how so therefore haven’t done. Everything makes me nervous. 😂 Oh, and I’m sure they “detailed it” in the eyes of a dealership’s view. Which means half assed and sprayed with water. 😵💫🫣🫠

After you Iron X it, clay bar and wax it after. You're welcome.
This 👆🏻. IronX will decontaminate the paint but it’s the clay bar that’s key to physically removing the underlying contaminants embedded in the paint. If you don’t, the rust will just return. After that wax is a good way to put in a protective layer. For greater and longer lasting protection, lay down a paint sealant first (e.g., Jescar Power Lock Plus) buff it out and then add a layer of your preferred wax (for me - Collinite 845).

it’s just a decontamination process and doesn’t add any protection. There’s three main forms of protection available. Waxes, just like the 60’s dad ‘wax on, wax off’ in the driveway, that’s basis is carnuba. It’s the shortest protection generally. Sealants are a patroleum based product that are generally the easiest to apply and last slightly longer. Coatings are the hardest to apply but last the longest (usually 2-5 years). They are Sio2 (with some additions) with carrier solvents.

of course there are products that are between or are one thing claiming to be another. It’s not uncommon for a sealant to claim coating status because they tossed in some SIO2.

White Bronco with suspicious reddish spots on it. 🤔

Pretty sure I’ve seen this Netflix docuseries.
I get reddish spots on my white bronco. I park near a date palm and like in SoCal. They rub off but it takes some effort

This happens to all vehicles and especially so in winter climates. Some years after winter it's all over the vehicle while other winters it's a bit less.

It's most noticeable on white & silver and any other very light coloured vehicles.

Yes you have to use a clay bar to remove it
