The ROUSH Bronco intake arrived from LETHAL PERFORMANCE (quite quickly, might I add) and I just had to get it installed. It’s super straight forward. 4, T30 Torx and the old lid comes off. Remove and replace the stock air filter for the larger unit provided. Install the rubber gasket on the new lid. Then bang the 4 Torx screws back on.

*I didn’t install the ROUSH badge.* I don’t like the way it’s oriented. Without the badge, the airbox lid looks more OEM+ than aftermarket, if that makes sense.

No driving experience or sound checks yet. I’m too busy for joy rides. So more to come there.

I also checked out the smart engineering done by Ford on the intake track. The water diverters and dump flaps. They learned a lot when FoMoCo owned Land Rover.

Do you think it will interfere, size—wise, with the ARB compressor mounting bracket being sold by 4x4 LED? Would you mind posting a photo of the whole engine area with the Roush intake? Looks awesome!

Looks great does it require a tune
Not at all. Here are some of the other notes:

  • Fits all 2.3L and 2.7L 2021 Ford Bronco
  • 30% more filtration area than OE filter
  • Maintains factory water fording capability (prevents water ingestion into the engine)
  • Intake gasket included creating an airtight seal to protect the air filter from debris and water
  • Made from durable injection-molded plastic
  • Maintains factory mounting locations and hardware are utilized to allow for quick and easy installation
  • Easy to clean / no oiling required
  • Increased air intake sound
  • Off-road pre-filter included
  • See-thru lid to monitor filter capacity
  • ROUSH plaque
  • Bronco Air Intake System NOT 50-State Emissions-Legal

Aftermarket air filters, by themselves without a tune really do nothing. Factory air boxes will flow more than enough air for a stock setup. Now if you start to do tunes, or upgrade your turbos, etc then you may need it.

But I know this is a debate as old as which oil is best, and Ford versus Chevy. Having the capability to flow more air does not mean that your engine was starving for air with the factory setup.

If you test, via your MAF sensor readings, say running a stock box vs nothing (or a performance intake) I think you be surprised at a results.

Now that's not the same as putting in a CIA that relocates the intake air to get cooler air... But an off-road vehicle, that would just be stupid to stick an air filter down low.

Not their claim at all:

15 minutes is less than 3.5 hours ;)
I admit, I misread it.

*Not hard to see why though when you’re skimming through it at work

How long did it take for you to get this intake? Looks like orders are delayed up to 8 weeks.

2 business days.
Oh really? I just ordered through Lethal Performance and saw on Rouches site that orders for the intake are delayed from 4 to 8 weeks. Wondering if they order directly from them.

Hmm maybe theyre not back ordered through Lethal then. Their site doesn't state there's a delay, so I might be good. Thanks.
