Rough Country Muffler Delete Before/After 2.7

Howdy all!

Just installed the RC Muffler delete and I know there are a few 2.7 before and after but Hope this helps someone who might be on the fence either way

Install:
Very easy BUT getting the rubber bushing off was awkward and frustrating— I ended up lub’n the rubber ring around the metal up then worked it back and forth (if you do an install you’ll see what I mean and Houston’s will pop in your head )

getting the screws for the hanger in the back bumper is also frustrating- if you have a small screw magnet it will save the hassle

Sound:
It is a slightly raspy -almost kind of rumble

imagine your Bronco is getting over the flu and has phlegm in Its throat haha

Initial cold start is deep raspy with a deeper rumble

@Buffalo_Rider Congrats on the exhaust! For all the stuff I have from Rough Country, they seem pretty great. I have the Performance dual exit exhaust and it’s been great. Nice raspy accelerations but low drone overall. Having opted for a full muffler delete rather than a replacement, how much louder is it? How much drone is there at highway speeds, if at all?

drone isn’t terrible actually - downshift gives you some buzz

cold start is the loudest but that is still under the level of “this jerk” - it is very “neighbor friendly” ..pretty much what you hear on the clip is the heaviest part other than merging on to the freeway

Awesome! I just did the same to our 2.7 as well. I love the throatier sound it has now. Puts a smile on both mine and my wife's faces when we are out driving around.

If you end up deciding it's too loud and raspy under part or full throttle or on the highway, you can also add a mid mount muffler like I did with this Borla Pro XS.

That is interesting.. I like the sound of that as well- definitely will look into it if I get tired of the current tone ..so far I’m liking it

I felt the same way for a couple weeks, but I spend a bunch of time in the truck and on the highway as a daily driver and needed to quiet it down a bit. It's still louder and better tone than the factory suitcase muffler, but more subdued.
