So if the dealer's position was that you canceled, that means you were refunded the $100, right?

Note that even if the dealer's story is 100% accurate, they were still using the customer's reservation to run a scam on Ford to get a FE Bronco for their lot. An order cancelled at the start of the year should have resulted in no FE Bronco for the dealership.

This is a different story and that guy caved and lost his order…..AND I think he still placed his replacement order through them. 🙄

Looks like OP updated again and they are down to 10k over. Levine has to go. These are personal orders not orders for the dealerships to hold hostage.

Update 2:
After Ford talked to them, they’re down to $10K over MSRP which is what they claim they did for all FE and Wildtrak holders. Knowing other dealers sold at MSRP makes that hard for me but will make a decision on that today.
Sorry if you pay one dime over MSRP you are a fool. If you do, again they have won. And will screw over the next person because they know they can.

But it's your money. If you have it and want it that bad go for it. But you are only feeding the already broken system

Being as this reservation process is new to ford, they should amend the rules such that reservation holder msrp is protected. If dealers are caught charging adm on reservation holder all allocation is removed and spread around with other dealers.

...but when a dealership is being kind, honest, and helpful to their customers by offering a vehicle at a reasonable price, Fords makes a point to come out with a whole new algorithm to ensure those customers are forced to wait years for their Bronco.

True dat. Granger, is my 2029 Bronco on its way yet?

most recent tweet from Levine:
I think we can all assume this tweet is about the OP's situation

Screen Shot 2021-12-31 at 9.32.28 AM.png
He can say that, but most dealerships won't sign a true purchase agreement for a vehicle that won't be delivered for 12+ months and doesn't have so much as a hint of a scheduled build date or VIN. Yes, I am aware that some have. But not most.

I do think it's important to get as much in writing from the dealership as you can. In most states it doesn't require a specific form with signatures from everyone to meet the definition of a legally binding contract.

If you have zero firm documentation, you really are playing with fire.

The situation isn't quite the same as the old times when you would order a car and get it three weeks later, with neither side taking any actual market condition or inflation risk.

So, OP, any truth to this response from the dealership? It is what they are posting to every 1-star Google review.
6E9FD971-15E6-45A4-A3E5-D7BEDBEFEEA5.jpeg
The response from the dealer is a total lie. Lets break it down.

Customer says they don't want it, go ahead and order it.

That's not how that would work, I'm not going to order a $20 pizza that I don't want, I'm for sure not going to order a $62K truck I don't want.

Dealer says they spent 10 months emailing and calling the customer.

If the dealer thought the customer was out of the picture why would they spend 10 months calling and emailing, they said they already knew the customer was out. If they really thought the customer had walked away from the deal they wouldn't be wasting their time.

Every reservation holder paid MSRP or a price they agreed to.

That would explain the reason they have three Broncos for sale from reservation holders that didn't purchase their Bronco.

This dealer is a so full of it and lieing.

@Administrator - Please delete this thread. Was resolved at MSRP with the dealership and we'd like to close this down.

Excited to have my FE!
Congrats!! Still a shame you had to jump through hoops to get it.

I personally would never deal with them myself. And they still deserve negative reviews. The only reason they back peddled is because they got called out. Guaranteed they will find someone else down the line to take advantage of that won't fight back.

Let me just put this out there . . . given the dealer's polar opposite, public explanation . . . could there be a small chance here, even a 10% chance that there is a big misunderstanding? Maybe OP never intended whatsoever to give an indication that he was walking away, and the dealer erroneously thought he was but did not confirm because they were using the wrong contact number, etc. etc. Crazier things have happened. Just sayin'.

If the dealer has sold a lot of Broncos, and all of them at MSRP or a pre-agreed sell price as they claim, and that's not true, then wouldn't there be a stream of previous Bronco customers complaining about high ADM's from this dealer? Strange that OP is the only one we are hearing about. Not trying to say he is lying or anything, just saying it does not totally add up. Again, a misunderstanding may be in play.

I agree, documentation is good to have. How many dealers does one go too before you find one that will sign an agreement? There are only so many in a persons area.

Even with documentation the dealer will still screw you over.

Also if others would like to delete their negative reviews, that would be helpful. Thanks

Excited to have my FE!
I say leave it up to let others know. Put them on the list of naughty dealers with an explanation. Anyone with a reservation with Superior Ford of Plymouth should consider moving it.

Yes, we don’t need to pretend this isn’t happening or that you can’t do anything about it when it does.
We should have a dedicated forum for sleazy dealers.
