Remove aux switches for sunglasses holder?

I have been waiting almost 2 yeas and have a 2D BL Lux scheduled. I have been to Moab a lot in my life, etc. but I am not hardcore and would never add a lightbar or anything that would use aux switches. I would actually rather have a sunglasses holder compared to a bunch of aux switches that will never be used.

Is it possible to pull out the placebo aux switches and put a sunglasses holder back in there? I am sure I am in the minority here, but I do use that area to store sunglasses in my 4runner and would rather have that than the fake mission control look.

I just took delivery of a 2023 Badlands with manual and high package. There's a sunglass holder in the console between the shifter and cup holders. I'll try to post a picture later. In my opinion it's in a more convenient location than the one the Aux switches displaced.

I would just get sunglass clip on the visor and be done with it. That's what I had to do back in the day on my BMW M4 that didn't have a sunglass holder.

There's some sort of recess in the console in front of the shifter in the A/T Broncos. Maybe your sunglasses will fit there?

Get these regardless if you choose to go ahead with the swap or not, super handy. I keep my glasses clipped to the visor but throw all kind of stuff in the baskets.

I bought one like this. Simple, works well, and blends in with the vehicle. A thief could ransack the Bronco and likely not notice this since it blends in with all the plastic up top. Mine is less shiny (blends in even better), but no idea where I bought it last year.

I wouldn’t touch the aux switches.
