I'm a product manager in my day job at Adobe, so I'l ask the question I would ask in my day job... What are the use cases for a removable cargo shelf? Why do you want to remove it and what types of gear are you looking to store on the shelf? That's the first step in determining the most appropriate solution, whether it's already in market or it needs to be built.
My use is for large items I periodically carry in the cargo area. I can't get big items in there with a permanent cargo shelf that hangs down halfway between the roof and the cargo floor. Would be nice to have something I can quickly disconnect if I am at let's say home depot and want to buy something that is big enough to need the whole cargo area to transport it home.
For me the use case is 1) concealment of items in cargo area, 2) prevents items from blowing around in cargo hold with top/doors off 3) place to store heavier items or "t-top" panels when also needing to carry other items without placing them on the already known to be fragile MIC top panels and 4) and most important mine looks f-ing sick and I'm proud of the craftsmanship.
